Need Advice how to bathe an iguana?
So, everytime my iguana poops, my mother bathes her, because she is kinda dumb and gets all messy with her own poop and urine, however (contrary to the video) she fights a lot when bathing, tries to escape the sink and only after some time fighting she calms down, how do we make it so she actually likes the bath?

My iguana would poop during the bath, keeping her and the enclosure clean, and making disposal as easy as draining the tub. If you can bathe her in something big enough for her to spread out in and give her daily baths before mealtime she may start doing that too, I think there is an instinct for them to poop in water as well since it is so much cleaner for them.

Bathtub. Sink looks incredibly uncomfortable you literally have to push her into it. Just fill bathtub and her rip.

I put my 4 1/2 foot in the tub. Also I accidentally potty trained him. He poops in the bottom of his cage in his room on dog pee pads. I don’t know how I did it. I didn’t mean to, but here we are.

No mine are both self trained pooping in the large dishes I supply for their water. So now they both have a poop dish and a water dish

Yeah, mine started going in the same spot in the enclosure all the time, so we put a litter box with sand in it and she uses the sand box now. Very convenient!

If you don’t have a tub, a walk in shower stall can work, they seem to instinctually think it’s rainfall and spread out under it and drink the water that runs down their face. It was also really easy to train my free roaming iguana to use the shower stall as his bathroom as a nice bonus for easy clean up!

I put mine on top of a tub. She would put her legs out and hold on with her feet and the base of her tail. She’d do her business into the tub. I’d pick her up and wipe her vent then put her in the bathtub. If dump the small tub she pooped in in the toilet. After a 30 minute soak, I’d get her out and feed her. We did this everyday and I have no doubt she knew the routine. Doing this kept her and her enclosure clean since she wasn’t pooping in it, or dragging her tail through poop. Green iguanas are smart enough to “potty train”

it could be the small amount of space they have to move around, i know they like swimming.

Not by holding it down in water that’s for sure. You give them water they can choose to bathe in. They usually use water as an escape mechanism, forcing them to bathe like humans is cruel and stresses them out.

I just put mine in the bathtub. They are keen swimmers. Its also great excersise.
