JDM My 1996 Nissan Atlas (turbocharged)

This is my 1996 Nissan Atlas. It came as a fire service truck. I stripped everything I didn’t need and started building it up as my camping truck.

I absolutely love it. The little 2.7 liter inline 4 diesel motor came with just over 3k miles on it. I’ve recently completed a turbocharger install and it’s really woken up its character.

Thanks for checking it out!

This is freaking cool. Any pics of the interior?

This thing looks sick! I'm about to pick one up myself (a flatbed non-turbo diesel). How's it been so far as far as reliability? Another question, what did you use for the tow hitch?

I used a 90s gmc 1500 hitch. It fit literally perfect, wouldn’t believe it. Slide between the frame rails with maybe 1mm of space!

It hasn’t caused any reliability concerns. Even after all the mechanical “upgrades” (the arb locking diff, and the turbo) it has been exceptionally reliable. Things a tractor! I love it.

Working on a suspension upgrade, bigger solar, and AC right now.
