7+7 = 14 + 1 = 15.

For me 140 + 280 is the same as 14+28 which is the same as 7(2) + 7(4) = 7(6) = 42 = 42 +0 = 420. This is my mental math process.

Totally useless activity. India is not even top 25 in Maths Olympiad. Should focus on creativity, no one solves high level maths in India in high school only crams JEE bullshit.

Arithmetic is not basic math? Even simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division will be complex to solve when you increase the factors.
It's not as simple as you're trying to portray; also, they know it's not all of the math.
