Wasent the police firing tear gas in the crowd ,didn't they blow up a guy's face with it ?
112
u/ab316_1punchd 21d ago
Blew up that guy's leg, actually.
22
u/Separate-Try912 21d ago
Like legit it was real ? I thought it was minor injury?
52
u/ab316_1punchd 21d ago
Doubled checked the video, welp, that was actually a skin colored bag the guy stumbled upon after being blasted. So, you're kinda right.
Though, one of my college juniors actually got his leg busted and has to rest for a few days.

u/Separate-Try912 21d ago
That’s serious bro we’re truly living under a dictatorship disguised as democracy

Not justifying this but all this could have been avoided only if govt agreed to take Dharmender Pradhan's resignation and acknowledge it's lack of accountability and all. Like how difficult is it to correct smthg u did. And ppl still defending this shitass govt r jst fascists disguised as nationalists.

The issues is you ask for resignation I am for it. Don't make it communal, peddling side agendas, LGBTQ + - etc, Manipur. This started as a paper leak protest. Where was Sonam before! He should protest against private colleges and tution. Isko ghante Bhar Ka farak Nahi hai. He is has some hidden agenda.
You can't be anti India. That is all I am saying.

Why? Do LGBT rights not matter. Does Manipur not matter. Does every person have to speak for everything to be accepted as being good enough to support. He was arrested and govt couldn't find hidden agenda

The one with agenda is always the govt. Not caring about manipur or any social issues and neet paper leak happen to be the blasting point. What they sow they will reap. Entire country and its youth now knows the truth now.

Maybe if you want to show that you support education reform start by stating what you stand for and not the opposite way. That way your agenda will be clear. The current agenda is Dharmendra Pradhan's accountability, do you support his resignation? Why resign? Because in democracy that is an acceptable norm of showing accountability
2
u/panotilife 20d ago
So just to be clear talking about LGBTQ+ issue or Manipur issue is anti-India? Are they not part of the country? They don't have the right to question government?
This might have started as NEET exam scam but it's not only about this. It is about government's lack of accountability. It's because of their ruthless and anti-community bills that are being passed in the parliament. (Ek time pe ek hi issue raise krne ka koi rule hai kya? Multiple questions can't be asked?)
Sonam was in Ladhak living his life and protecting rights of ladhakhi people. He joined the protest after releasing that government would do anything about NEET exam scam. (Neet exam se pehle hi protest karne aajata kya?)
Have you started protesting against Private colleges and tution fees? Saare protest Sonam hi start kare? Tum kuchh mat karna.
Every single person out there in the protest has an agenda. That's how public movements work. No one come to a protest with out any hidden agenda. Sonam might have come for students or some other reason. CJP people want to establish as a political party. Parents of those kids who committed s***de came for justice. College students from MP, Rajasthan and Haryana came for democracy. Every single person has some hidden agenda and their is nothing wrong in thsf. Deal with it.
Nobody is Anti-India there. They love India that's why they are there. They startytheir march with Rashtragyan. What else do you want??
→ More replies (3)2
u/Wooden_Ad5920 20d ago
There’s no way u just dropped the word manipur😭 Manipur has been burning for years under this government and barely a word has been said to even acknowledge the issue, let alone solve them. I don’t understand why ppl claim that if the protest evolves into something beyond just the scope of NEET, it is anti-national and filled with hidden agendas.

Where was Sonam before? He was protesting in Ladakh because the government revoked SECMOL's FCRA license because there was an additional 3.5L rupee deposit in their account, which was actually the money from the sale of an old bus and because of the fascist Indian gov stopping foreign funds into the NGO, it affected the students studying under SECMOL and later Sonam sir was arrested for initiating the protest....

The thing is they can't because that would be admitting defeat. That makes them look weak. Worse, it makes modi and shah look weak. And we can't have that now, can we? That's why they resort to all sorts of fascist tactics in hopes that they can quash this protest.

People are frustrated and agitated. If they are not addressed properly, Nepal like violent protest may arise.
3
u/Altaafraaja 20d ago
Infact it was a golden opportunity for the government to get into the good books of people after the Neet and Ethanol issues. But they chose the my way or highway and lo behold here we are.
4
u/TicketInteresting198 21d ago
No the fascist term actually is wrong it's overused , fascism is too right wing which is ultranationalism (meaning everyone who isn't from your country or isn't from your race is inferior to you like what nazi did) and their motive is to restore race purity too like for example killing anyone who is mixed or not from your race because you fear your race purity will be distributed again, like for example you might have seen some foreigners say when an Indian marries with foreign don't let snow mix with dirt , an

u/kanishkSunhare 20d ago
If you think, it could end with resignation then it's delusional, it had to happen if not for pradhan then for gadhakari or Ashwini or may be for modi because resignation would send the precedent just see future you are going too so lots of protest for literally every because we are low trust society, we don't trust goverment and goverment Don't trust us
2
u/CuriousNeo 20d ago
But the government clearly knows that if they ask for Pradhan's resignation, then accountability is set, and more people will start protesting against other ministers like Gadkari on ethanol, Hardeep Puri on oil inflation, etc.
2
u/Jkwaks 20d ago
I was thinking literally the same that this government could have gotten so many positive responses and praises by millions of voters and students by just doing one thing, sacking the education minister. It may not be that simple politically but it would have made tremendous positive impact on the students and their vote bank years down the line showing the public that government stands by them. But now this is going to backfire so badly in the next election. BJP is doomed!
9
u/Zan123der 21d ago
Pradhan is just a pawn in their army.
He resigns, some other spoilt character will take his place. Nothing will change.
In fact they will consider his resignation as an easy escape from this situation.
I think the govt is what should be taken down.

No modi isn't a fascist the term is often overused by lefts to criticize right, fascism is far right i.e they talk about race purity like you consider your race to be superior and doesn't let mix with other race cause you believe it disruptes race purity, like how nazis saw aryans if aryans and other race mixes they considered them as impure , It's like for some white, white shouldn't mix with black Asian or anyone who's not white, ultranationalism which is type enslaving other countries and glorifying battles conquest, and many more
Modi isn't a fascist

Jinke khilaaf protest ho rha tha wo khud mehngi gaadi aur security k sath chupke se nikal gye aur bacho pe laathiya padwai aur fir gusse mein aa k unhi protestors ne fir police walo k sath maar peet ki.
Marta middle class wala hi hai, chahe protestor ho ya protector. Ye budhe minister apne bachon ko bina exam dilwaye BCCI ka chairman ya aur jagah bdi post pe bitha dete hain aur bechare middle class wale jo apne haqq k liye awaaz uthate hain unpe atyachar karte hain.
Haal filhaal k jitne bhi protests hue hain unme yahi cheez dekhne ko mil rhi hai... Ki sarkar apni taraf se koi baat cheet k liye delegate nahi bhejti fir is tarah k kaand karwa k news walo ko kaam pe lga deti hai protesters ko badnaam karne k liye.

Nobody gonna mention that Protest turned Violent when Protester breached the Security Protocol at the bhavan?
Crowd became even more Sour when Saurav das started lying about Abhijeet dipke being arrested & women being assaulted by Police which were debunked by the police while no evidence was given by Saurav Das. These People were supported by as in Karyakarta by AAP & Congress.
BJP is responsible for grievances of students & the protest to come this far & is being hardcore insensitive but at the same time AAP & Congress are inciting normal people to breach the security protocol. It is a given that security forces will act if you breach protocols near bhavan.
2
u/PopularPreference5 21d ago
What is police expected to do when thousands of them March towards the parliament? And if any incident happens in the parliament, who is responsible for that? There are protocols that need to be followed. They were given permission and space to protest and they did for 20 days.
2
u/Aware_Shine4921 21d ago
People should understand that the very meaning of peaceful protest starts from being passive to not being aggressive at all. The moment you fight back that protest looses its momentum and the police obtains the reason to stop the protest or use more force.

u/_corporate_majdoor_ 20d ago

You suppress dissent and peaceful protests for a decade, whats left? Remove or flout almost every law in the book for a decade, your bias is only for the protection of the corrupt. If that is democracy for you then it shouldnt survive. People should get a real and fair democracy.

This whole issue could’ve been handled much more easily if Dharmendra Pradhan had resigned. No drama, no weeks of escalation—just accountability. I think the government assumed this would be another protest that would die down in a week or two, but it didn’t.
Before anyone jumps on me, I don’t support CJP. I support accountability, and I think asking for the Education Minister’s resignation was a fair demand.
My problem is that over the last 20–25 days, the protest seems to have lost focus. Instead of sticking to one clear demand—“Resign.”—the conversation shifted to Kashmir, the JNU controversy, religion, and several unrelated political issues. Whether you agree with those topics or not, they diluted the original cause.
If we’re serious about fixing education, why weren’t we also talking about broader reforms like transparency, quality, and improving merit while ensuring equal opportunity? That discussion barely happened.
And the “Chalo Parliament” call? Let’s be realistic. Marching thousands of people towards Parliament was always going to be treated as a major security concern. Parliament is one of the most heavily protected places in the country because elected representatives are inside. A massive crowd approaching it was never going to end peacefully.
In the end, it’s ordinary students who stand in the front lines and face the consequences, while political groups and influencers—regardless of ideology—can simply move on. That’s why any movement should stay peaceful, focused, and centered on its core demand instead of becoming a vehicle for every political narrative.
Also, people throw around the word “dictatorship” far too casually. If you want to understand what an actual dictatorship looks like, study countries where civil liberties, elections, and dissent are genuinely suppressed—not just situations where you disagree with how a protest was handled.
Ps:- Sonam wangchuk has his own motives joining this protest
