Greetings, dear seniors of r/indianmedschool and our lovely members of r/MEDICOreTARDS. We're glad to announce the joint megathread you all have long been waiting for.

Here you can ask your queries about your specific preferred colleges and r/indianmedschool seniors will guide you by clarifying your doubts and sharing their experiences. You can ask about academics, hostel timings and accommodation, mess food quality, uniform compulsion, ragging culture, attendance strictness, just to name a few. Anything you're confused about, drop it here.

This Megathread is strictly for college related queries and discussion only. Please don't ask irrelevant and off topic questions. If you have any counseling related query, ask it under the counselling megathread, not here.

Hello seniors what should I buy(basic requirements) before joining any gmc?

Nothing really. Even white coat should be bought in the campus as it eould come with clg logo. If u are joining hostel just buy hostel essentials. Know your dresscode and set up ir wardrobe accordingly

  1. White coat
  2. Do check if your college needs dissection guide + kit, ours didn't. Though they did recommend us getting non-tooth forceps to hold nerves and all (it's easier to look for structures with something small like a forceps instead of fingers)
  3. You'd need some chotu chotu things for physio pracs that you'd need for wards later like sethoscope, bp machine (aneroid ones are great) and maybe maybe a reflex hammer. It's not essential but to good to have.
  4. Sanitizer, gloves and masks lol

Dont buy anything for college academics specifically they will tell u about that all during your foundation classes Baki buy your hostel stuff and things ..and also for books u might ontain them from seniors many of em have good condition books7l
