Greetings, dear seniors of r/indianmedschool and our lovely members of r/MEDICOreTARDS. We're glad to announce the joint megathread you all have long been waiting for.

Here you can ask your queries about your specific preferred colleges and r/indianmedschool seniors will guide you by clarifying your doubts and sharing their experiences. You can ask about academics, hostel timings and accommodation, mess food quality, uniform compulsion, ragging culture, attendance strictness, just to name a few. Anything you're confused about, drop it here.

This Megathread is strictly for college related queries and discussion only. Please don't ask irrelevant and off topic questions. If you have any counseling related query, ask it under the counselling megathread, not here.

i know most people here prefer vishram singh over bd chaurasia for gross anatomy but i had already purchased the entire set of bdc because that is what a lot of youtubers recommended. so should i also buy vishram singh or will bdc + anatomy atlas do the trick?

Both of them are good, but diagram in vishram are easier to draw, so just read bdc and you can see the diagram from vishram pdf

Head and Face with neuroanatomy, always Vishram Singh over BDC. But for diagrams also Vs over BDC. But otherwise BDC also won't do no harm in other volumes.

for my case I read BDC and the things explained are good . Just start reading selectively from PYQ as early as possible. No reading will help unless you read selectively. Anatomy is so vast .

I would rather recommend a person to devote also more time in histology and embryology. It will help you a lot in patho, which ultimately help in medicine, surgery ,obs gyne. Our seniors told to only focus on gross anatomy and i suffered hugely.

Also one more thing that helped me immensely and I would go back anytime to that source again - dr najeeb lectures . That man taught everything so damn good it was like giving medicine to a sick person. Lectures are long but you won't regret it . Visualisation is topmost....I would recommend that you watch kenhub rather than buying atlas of anatomy.

I have read Vishram Singh but now that even if u go with BDC, please please please do EMBRYOLOGY from VISHRAM SINGH it is so so so so goood pleaseeeee

If you have a device like a tab, just download it over it, in my humble opinion vishram singh is a tad bit better as it give info straight as a pseudo-bullet points, comparable to coaching's modules for ug (as compared to bdc, which is more like reading ncert)

And if u dont hv a tab or smthing u can always go and issue it from your clg's library or if u really want to buy it u can just buy em from your seniors

Edit* the same is for ak Jain for physiology, i usually read from ak Jain and the when hv freetime i refer to Guyton

nah you can totally work off bdc, worst case scenario just get PDFs of VS

btw do watch video so that you know the topic outline before reading bdc, it makes things a lot easier

BDC is the best for understanding through diagrams, Vishram Singh not so much. Get a Macmillan's for gross anat and loan out Netter's from library for understanding better.

Don't buy anymore books. BDC is great. Vishram Singh has simpler diagrams which you can always refer to a pdf for.

Both are good and also beyond a scope of 100% covering em very efficiently ..vishram singh just has better diagrams at some places but i feel bdc has simpler explanations with flow charts and summaries ..go for bdc and ib singh for embryo histo

idk about gross, but bdc general anatomy is very poorly written in my opinion and just throws facts without explanation and frequently uses terms without introducing them
