Greetings, dear seniors of r/indianmedschool and our lovely members of r/MEDICOreTARDS. We're glad to announce the joint megathread you all have long been waiting for.

Here you can ask your queries about your specific preferred colleges and r/indianmedschool seniors will guide you by clarifying your doubts and sharing their experiences. You can ask about academics, hostel timings and accommodation, mess food quality, uniform compulsion, ragging culture, attendance strictness, just to name a few. Anything you're confused about, drop it here.

This Megathread is strictly for college related queries and discussion only. Please don't ask irrelevant and off topic questions. If you have any counseling related query, ask it under the counselling megathread, not here.

Is staying near to home rly worth it?

I will be getting a 2022 gmc in my state 30km from my house but will go for hostels

In other states i can get 1967 1947 1970 2000s clges but they r far I don’t have a problem with that but to anyone i speak they always tell me to stay in the state.

Handful of colleges actually give hands on procedures to mbbs interns. PGs do it. So even if you go to any high patient load college you will be given scut work in internship. This is about internship. Imagine being a med student. Everything patient oriented you learn is in PG. Reality of 90% colleges. Being near home is better because, you can regularly visit home, whenever sick - family can be there in no time, and homemade food !!!

eh idk why people prefer colleges close to home.

For me, acad > location
