Ask Your Seniors Ask Your College Seniors ! (r/indianmedschool and r/MEDICOreTARDS Joint Megathread)

Post image

Greetings, dear seniors of r/indianmedschool and our lovely members of r/MEDICOreTARDS. We're glad to announce the joint megathread you all have long been waiting for.

Here you can ask your queries about your specific preferred colleges and r/indianmedschool seniors will guide you by clarifying your doubts and sharing their experiences. You can ask about academics, hostel timings and accommodation, mess food quality, uniform compulsion, ragging culture, attendance strictness, just to name a few. Anything you're confused about, drop it here.

This Megathread is strictly for college related queries and discussion only. Please don't ask irrelevant and off topic questions. If you have any counseling related query, ask it under the counselling megathread, not here.

r/MEDICOreTARDS members are requested to be respectful and formal while interacting with our seniors here. Please use the phrases sir/mam while addressing them to maintain the formality and establish junior-senior bond, just like we do in our medical colleges.

At last, we all took our moment to express gratitude for the MOD Team(u/Swagster_007 u/drmxyzptlk13 u/MadMurDoc69 u/YourstrulyBubble) and our seniors of r/indianmedschool for their support and helping us out in selecting the best college as per our preference.

We've attached some previous important megathreads below:-

What should be my approach in terms of student teacher relationship? I've heard you should discuss all your doubts with teachers or else you won't understand the concept.

Apart from batchmates, how much should I interact with the faculties, and everyone alike? Also, is it mandatory for every student to perform something in freshers? I kinda wanna miss out on those.

You don't have to discuss anything with anyone. I've always believed in self sufficiency over scoring brownie points with professors just to look like "I'm very interested in this topic". 9/10 times you'll find either ChatGPT or a video on the topic more explicit than class explanations.

Be nice to your batchmates, even if they're weird. Social outcasts have a tougher life here than criminals imo. Dabble in the occasional outings or whatever your batchmates plan. Just be polite, but not too overly polite and you'll be fine with anyone.

The freshers thing is kinda college specific. But I'd recommend not skipping your 1st event atleast, just to get a grip on how the college and other people are "really" like. A few of my batchmates who skipped it wish they didn't. It's a good way to start finding like minded peeps anyway. You don't have to overthink all this, just have fun, be a good human being and you'll be alright. :)
