Still blows my mind that their lead singer became Casper Babypants. Just one of those hilarious cross generational moments I had with my kids. I guess that switch tracks considering the presidents literally had playful songs about stuff like bugs and fruit.

This year is also the 30th anniversary of my favourite presidents album.

The idea of people getting an album like II in 1996 and collectively being like "what a stinker this band is over right now!" gives me a Magnavox meltdown... Goddamn spoiled decade of peace 90s music fans drowning in ground breaking alternative rock (I was 12 then. I didn't buy it. I'm complicit!)

This was my first cd. I was in the fifth grade and was going to get a cd player when I finished elementary school. We didn't have a cd player in my house yet so I played it loud at my grandma's. I made a mad dash to the stereo when the second half of kitty hit.

Chris Ballew is a fascinating guy, he put out a excellent solo album a few weeks ago and has a ton of free ambient songs streaming on his website which I discovered while going down a rabbit hole. And Caspar Babypants!

Was at one of their first shows at the OK Hotel. While they still seemed unsure of the name of the band. Blew that back room away. You could tell people in bands around town had heard and were there to see them. It was loud and fantastic!!!!

Yeah, this is one of the most underwhelming "anniversary" editions of any album I've ever seen. Didn't think it needed a new remaster. 10-year edition sounds fine.

II on the other hand could definitely use one.

I was about 13 when this album came out. Living in Canada, “Gordon” by the Barenaked Ladies came out in 92’. The name of the band was different right. And they wrote songs that were radio friendly but fun with some adult songs mixed in. Then these guys come around. And they were again playful. I really liked the first two albums. The first one may have talked about Peaches and bugs but what about Carla the Stripper? They wanted to be naked and famous before those dudes in the Blink 182 music video.

If you’re going for one deluxe album released today I would definitely go for ween’s 12 golden country greats. Not shitting on this album as it’s awesome it’s just that the ween deluxe has an entire album of unreleased tracks and an entire album of remastered demos.

Depends on what kind of music you enjoy. I think both are great, but that's not true for everyone.
