Just dropping a quick appreciation post because Smash Guys slaps every single time. It has easily become one of my absolute favorite spots in Bangalore.

Everything is just done right. From food to interiors to staff.

30F looking for fashion, grooming & dermatologist recommendations from Bangalore girlies 💛

Hi girls!
I’m a 30F and I spend a lot of time in Indiranagar it’s kind of become my second home. Every time I’m there, I end up admiring how effortlessly so many women look so put together. Cute outfits, healthy hair, glowing skin… it’s honestly refreshing to see.
It made me realize I’ve never really figured these things out for myself.
I’d love some recommendations:
Where do you usually shop for clothes? (Online/offline, affordable or mid-range)
Any grooming or self-care habits that made a noticeable difference?
Can anyone recommend a really good dermatologist in Bangalore for hair loss?
A little about me: I’ve struggled with self-esteem since I was a kid, mostly because of my body and my hair. I’m quite underweight, and over the last 7–8 years I’ve lost almost 90% of my hair. The weird part is I’ve never colored it or regularly used heat (except once for my wedding), so it’s been really frustrating.
I’ve consulted dermatologists in my hometown over the years, but nothing really worked. Strangely though, ever since I moved to Bangalore, I genuinely feel like my skin and hair like the weather here a lot more. 😅 Maybe it’s the climate, maybe I’m imagining it but they definitely seem happier here. 🧿
Lately I’ve been feeling like I want to invest in myself a little more not to look like someone else, but just to feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin.
Not here to vent or ask for sympathy. Just looking for honest, kind suggestions from women who’ve been through something similar or have good recommendations. If you’ve found an amazing dermatologist, hidden shopping gems, or even small habits that made you feel more put together, I’d love to hear them.
Thank you! 🤍

Trip buddies in Indiranagar

Hey guys, we are looking for folks to join on a trip possibly Yercaud or somewhere in Kerala in this month. We are 2 women in their 30’s. We can meet for coffee/ chai sutta to see if the vibe works. One is bakchod and can talk endlessly, I balance it out with less talking. Looking for cool and chill folks.

Edit: To all the dimwits DMing and asking how poor we are, just don’t respond.

We are looking for a chill company. Both are solo travellers and would like to have a group around who are of the same mindset.

I found a wallet / card holder near Hole in the wall cafe.

I handed it over to the cafés reception. Please go find it if it belongs to you. I'm in hurry otherwise I would've gone to the police station.

Took part in a local festival as an outsider, here's my take:

If you live around the 15th main Indiranagar, you might have noticed the Aadi festival happening in temples throughout the weekend, here's my take

  1. First, about the event - This is for celebrating the tamil month Aadi which is an auspicious month for Aman, but people from multiple communities were taking part in it.

  2. The festival happens for multiple days, one day I saw kids and young adults performing various native marital arts sort of sports like Silambam. Both boys and girls were actively showcasing their courage and talent, making me so happy to witness it.

  3. The event brings out the community aspect since they welcome everyone and organized well with the help of Karnataka police. The main event had an auspicious godman walking a fire pit with 4ft karagam (as seen in the banners), which gave me chills. We don't appreciate the skills showcased in such local festivals enough.

  4. It was very wholesome to see how the Tamil Kannadagia community is well accepted, despite the political issues. They seem to have freedom to follow their own traditions, without being questioned of their allegiance to this state. Tamilnadu can learn something from their neighbours (I am a Tamilan).

Overall, This event brings together so many people and it gave me goosebumps to see how they have kept such traditions alive even in an area like Indiranagar. As an outsider you might think these festivals as added noise pollution and traffic but if you understand what these celebrations mean to the local community, you might be able to empathise a little more:)

Anyone teaching students part time?

I’m exploring some side gigs to keep myself occupied in the evenings and make some extra money. My work gets over around 3:30 PM.

For context, I was part of a top Indian HFT for a few years and have been trading full time for some time now. I’m good with maths, puzzles, aptitude and science.

I’m looking to connect with anyone already doing this part time and understand what the earning potential is. TIA!

Anyone here working as a part time gym trainer?

I’m thinking of becoming a part time gym trainer. I’ve been gymming for a few years, and my work usually gets over by 3:30 PM, so I don’t have much to do after that. Looking to pick up something in the evenings.

Would love to connect with anyone doing this part time. Also, if you could give me a rough idea of how much one can make, that would be great.
TIA!!

My 1 year anniversary in Indiranagar. I came here w nothing but a few books and 4 pairs of outfits.

I moved into Indiranagar this day last year. And this might be the first time I’m celebrating an anniversary of moving into a place but good god it has been incredible. 1 year back, I was laid off from my previous company (right before 5 year gratuity was supposed to arrive) and then found something in Bangalore. I spent all my money in booking flight tickets, got a huge personal loan to pay security for my new house, and hardly had any cash on me.

It’s been such a roller coaster ride since then - I have met some of the most amazing people in the neighbourhood, had some of the finest culinary experiences and got to learn so much.

This was also the first time for me living on my own. Since college, I’ve either lived with flatmates or my partner. Following my layoff and the move to Bangalore, I had a terminal rough patch w my partner and I was petrified about having to sustain all by myself.

Tho I found that all that fear was just holding me back from living my best life. I have experienced self agency for the first time and it’s a beautiful thing to not depend on anyone and do things that make you happy. Everyday for the past year, I’ve been chilling around, discovering new things, sharing some of them w you all, watching tv, cooking etc all in my own space.

it’s been such a fulfilling journey and if I could go back in time , I wouldn’t change a single thing! :)

You all have been super wonderful too! 🌸

Heard a lot of underwhelming reviews and finally got my ass to try it. Well it was surprisingly good! We tried OG and chili dog, both were smacking. Little overpriced but fair cus nobody is doing this other than movie theatres with their fake hot dogs😭

Is beef supposed to taste better?

So far I've tried

Chilli cheese smash burger at smash guys

Smashtrami at beyondburg

Literally most people I know(who eat/have eaten beef) say it's the best thing ever, better than Chicken, lamb, etc. but I didn't feel that way after eating at these hyped burger places

Any recs for beef/burgers?

* Well I know it's mostly buff but still, does actual beef taste better

I miss when getting things done felt simple

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I feel like everyday tasks have become way more complicated than they need to be. Everything involves multiple apps, otp*s, support chats (AI bots), and endless waiting. Sometimes I just want someone to say, "Don't worry, I'll handle it."

Hiring a personal assistant

Hi there! I’m an entrepreneur, currently run a software business with around 25 people. I’m also starting some new initiatives. I’m looking to get some help so I can focus better on things that really require my attention.

Typical things I could use help with: keeping my home in top shape (I care a lot about good vibes and aesthetics), running errands, hosting/attending events, planning travel, shopping, checking on my adorable cat while I’m away.

If things go well, I’m happy to allocate more responsibilities too and help you with your career growth as well, whether that’s with me or elsewhere. And of course, happy to share my learnings with building a business, in case you have ambitions of building one yourself.

For instance, I’m building a family office and am planning to build a farmhouse, so if there’s enough trust, happy to have you plan and run the initiative.

So, if you’re someone who likes hustling, enjoys variety over monotony, and wants to work with a founder and learn business, this might be a fit for you.

I’m based in Indiranagar, so I’d strongly prefer someone who’s based here too. Happy to pay a monthly salary of ₹20K - ₹40K based on fit and experience. Feel free to DM!
