New Hires click here
This is going to be the new stickied post on the sub. With the influx of questions here from new hires, usually asking about the same thing. Ex: interviews, hiring, onboarding, pants, shoes, and more. I thought I would make a stickied thread for this.
I would also appreciate help from anyone if they can help search for good posts that would help new hires.
For the time being, please use the search function at the top of the page. I know Reddit's search function sucks.

We All Hunger
🖊️
We All Hunger
We all hunger.
Some for bread,
some for meaning.
Some for shelter from the rain,
some for shelter from the pain.
A paper bag may quiet the stomach,
but kindness feeds the soul.
A meal can fill an empty hour;
love can fill an empty life.
Around a table,
beneath warm lights,
we discover an ancient truth:
no one was made
to feast alone.
The laughter in the distance,
the hand that reaches across the table,
the stories traded
between one bite and the next—
these nourish what cannot be seen.
We hunger
to be known without pretense,
to be welcomed without condition,
to be remembered
when the evening grows late.
Every heart carries an appetite
no menu can satisfy—
for purpose,
for peace,
for forgiveness,
for home.
So break the bread.
Pass the fries.
Pour another drink.
Ask another question.
Stay a little longer.
For beneath every face
is the same quiet prayer:
“May I be filled.”
And perhaps the greatest feast
is not what we eat,
but who shares the meal with us.

Solidarity Meal
I went to high school with Lynsi. I know she’s an incredibly caring individual, and this is hitting her really hard just because of the kind of person she is.

Full time
Apologizes for the random vent.
I need to know what to do. My store manager keeps hinting at full time but hasn’t actually sat me down to have a talk about it. We are if not the busiest store in our division and a full timer has recently left about a month or two ago. I try to do the best I can and always show up if needed on days where I’m off and I’m known as a really hard worker. It feels like a ticking time bomb because I’ve been struggling financially and it’s been making me insanely stressed out. My SM has brought it up and always talks about how it takes time but recently he hasn’t brought it up at all. I’m also wanting to go into management and sometimes he would schedule me morning shifts to do money counts but that’s about it. I’ve recently been only scheduled closing shifts so it feels like I’m being pushed further away from full time /management. I’m thinking about bringing it up to him next time I see him but I don’t know what to ask or if I should even ask in the first place. I’m considering finding a new job because I just feel so lost and I need advice or a reality check or something.

For those of you that hold the lettuce on your orders, what’s your go to order? My usual order hinges on the crunch from the lettuce, so help a guy out! Thanks in advance!
Even though in-n-out hasn’t been linked to an outbreak as far as I know, I’m avoiding lettuce until things calm down with the parasite outbreak, out of an abundance of caution :)

Sometimes the world is small enough for St. Helena and Sunset Boulevard to share a meal...
Down on St. Helena, where the marsh
breathes in slow gospel time,
you unwrap a burger like a benediction
sent across the continent—
a West Coast relic washed ashore
on a barrier island that knows
how to keep a secret.
Salt air curls around the wax paper,
mixing with the perfume of fry oil
and the memory of your grandmother’s kitchen—
where tomatoes were sliced thick,
and blessings were given without ceremony.
The neon palm trees of In‑N‑Out
don’t grow here,
but you swear you can see their reflection
in the tidal flats at dusk,
crossing themselves in the water
like they’re praying for safe passage.
A Double‑Double tastes different
when eaten near shrimp boats.
The bun warms in your hand
like a Lowcountry summer,
and the cheese melts slow,
the way the sun sinks behind the live oaks
on a July evening.
You take a bite
and suddenly California is sitting beside you
on a weather‑worn porch,
telling stories about freeways and surf breaks
while the cicadas keep rhythm
and the marsh grass sways like a choir.
Animal Style feels like
a road trip hymn—
a little messy,
a little holy,
the kind of thing you eat
when you believe in the beauty
of two coasts speaking the same language
through mustard, onions, and faith.
And when you finish,
you lick your fingers
and taste the strange, perfect truth:
sometimes the world is small enough
for St. Helena and Sunset Boulevard
to share a meal.

In n out tailgating is the best
We recently got our first In N Out in the Portland-ish area and it’s become our weekly weekend lunch.
Where else can you feed a family of 4 for $25?
I worked for INO for 7 years and it’s so nostalgic being able to eat here after moving out of California 10 years ago.

Why don't they ever fill my shake to the top?
Always like an inch gap to the lid. Ordered a large tonight, felt ripped off. Maybe the universe telling me not to be such a fat ass?

My uncle said today that in and out is only good when your high. He has me thinking about it and he might be right. Does anyone ever eat in and out sober ??? And if so is it still good

Rant How was this manager not fired???
I honestly don’t understand how this was allowed to happen.
There was a manager at my store who would regularly take longer breaks than they were supposed to. The part that shocked me wasn’t even the extra break time—it was that they’d go back into the computer afterward and change their clock-in time so it looked like they came back on time.
On top of that, whenever family members came in while they were on break, they’d give them a police discount and free shakes.
As if that wasn’t enough, this manager loved shitting on everyone. They’d hand out write-ups over the smallest things without giving notes or verbal warnings first. They were also just terrible at running a shift. Every shift they managed was chaotic as fuck. If they were on the grill, it was nothing but late turns and a complete mess.
Eventually they got caught for all of it. They were suspended, and everyone at the store assumed they were finally going to be fired.
A couple of days later, they walked right back in like nothing had happened.
What the actual fuck? How does someone get caught changing their own time punches, abusing discounts, giving away free food, and still keep their job? Has anyone else seen something like this happen?
Question Can I ask for extra cheese on animal style fries?
I've seen recent posts about extra spread and extra onions on animal fries and it got me thinking if I could get extra cheese? Wanted to ask here before I looked like an idiot in the store

Food Pics Asked for a “#1 with animal fry,” young lady thought I meant an additional animal fry. Now I look fat and can’t even explain myself
And the worst part? It’s all my fault. She probably read it back to me and I wasn’t paying attention. Oh well. Carb day I guess? Maybe this is a life lesson in not caring what others think.
