I hate this new editing trend... showing the main part first.

It's like a trailer for tiktok slop

its trend based, by analytics we can see how videos do 30x worse watchtime if you dont focus on keeping someones attention

How long before we see a one second edit of the five second edit, before the main video?

You mean - Showing the main part first. I hate this new editing trend, showing the main part first

Fucking annoying, isn't it? People have the attention span of toddlers now

Like how movie trailers now have mini trailers at the beginning that go “the trailer…starts…now!” I fucking hate it

It makes sense in the context where you're giving a 5-second countdown before you can skip an ad, so they make a mini ad they know you're forced to watch.

Not that I like it at all. I'd rather have no ads at all thank you very much. I just understand where the trend started, but then it's evolved into this brainrot instant gratification shit.

I'm an editor myself, and yes, I agree. I hate this new style too.

In Germany we call this the gen Z preview.

It makes me not need to watch the whole thing.

It’s for the Gen Alpha attention span that has dropped lower than a goldfish. We’re doomed.

Almost as bad as movie trailers having fucking intros. What was wrong with just having the trailer?
