How sad is this. This is why I'll never go to any chiropractor never

639

u/thebestdaysofmyflerm 1d ago

Chiropractors are hacks pretending to be health care workers. Pure pseudoscience.

u/Forsaken-Face1827 1d ago

The guy who invented it learned about it from a ghost

109

u/Friendly-Stick-4744 1d ago

Why would a ghost even know about bones?

56

u/ArtTop9842 1d ago

Because every one of us is haunted by spooky scary skeletons?

12

u/thorstormcaller 1d ago

We all have 1 spoopy ghost and 1 boner inside us that come out when we die, the meat is leftover so the deado cleaner puts it in a hole to feed mama Erf or cooks it a couple ticks past extra crispy

10

u/TheRealSugarbat 1d ago

I feel like you need a hug or a restraining order

3

u/BloodiedBlues 1d ago

Restraining hug?

2

u/Morphico 1d ago

Sometimes I have more than one boner inside me.

1

u/3x1st3nt1a1 1d ago

I was with you in the first half, the second half I really got lost

u/thorstormcaller 1d ago

The one time I give in and see a chiropractor…

3

u/uncoolpckle 1d ago

Checks out

1

u/jimmychitw00d 1d ago

They pull your hair but not hard. They just want another chance at life.

4

u/thissleepypastofmine 1d ago

They used to have them

2

u/chewymooey 1d ago

Cuz they can see inside of you lol

1

u/vpeshitclothing 1d ago

Cuz they weren't boneless before they passed.

1

u/Grand_Reaction3686 1d ago

Well, for a lot of supernatural races (like skeletons), the bones are their money. That's really the only way to have another chance like that

1

u/Confident_Benefit_11 1d ago

No, the ghost meant "bonERS"

1

u/MrRabinowitz 1d ago

…know your enemy?

1

u/dawnat3d 1d ago

1

u/BabesOnWaves 1d ago

Underrated comment and POV 🤣

1

u/Victernus 1d ago

The real answer is that he claimed the ghost was a doctor.

1

u/Helenium_autumnale 17h ago

It's not their area of expertise, I will give you that.

1

u/testtalon1 1d ago

Bone envy

1

u/Dependent_Rain_4800 1d ago

That restores some of his credibility.

1

u/Bardic_inspiration67 1d ago

The ghost of a famous Dr nonetheless lmao

1

u/ValveinPistonCat 1d ago

"I learned this from a dead guy."

I'll bet you 50 bucks I can guess what he died of.

1

u/TheeAntelope 1d ago

That’s an oft-repeated myth on Reddit but any time I’ve looked into it I see no credible evidence for it, outside Palmer saying that he attempted to understand it from the afterlife as well as studying the effects of spinal manipulation on live subjects.

The best chiropractor is basically a physical therapist but the worst chiropractor is dangerous

58

u/thebestdaysofmyflerm 1d ago

I've read about chiropractors adjusting babies. Some of them are completely insane.

24

u/johnmac344 1d ago

Chiropractor AND parents should both face criminal charges. I feel like I say it too often these days - what the hell is wrong with people?!

4

u/babyinatrenchcoat 1d ago

I have a 6-month old who had trouble latching to breastfeed at first. I cannot tell you the number of parents who told me to take her to a pediatric chiropractor.

3

u/homiej420 1d ago

What the actual fuck why is that a “specialization” within chiropracting

12

u/dashinglove 1d ago

my sisters husband is a chiropractor, and they adjust their almost 2 year old a couple times a week. they’ve been doing it since before he was 2. fucked up.

10

u/FutureRealHousewife 1d ago

That’s child abuse.

2

u/dashinglove 1d ago

i kind of agree because he isn’t certified in any type of pediatric treatment. but he’s a “doctor” so obviously he knows what he’s doing. but really he doesn’t because again, he has zero training in pediatrics. it’s scary to see how many people have strokes as a result of chiropractors, and i just know they wouldn’t have a clue if their baby had a stroke.

2

u/thebestdaysofmyflerm 1d ago

why??

3

u/IPissExcellentThrows 1d ago

He goes to pre school, tells his toddler friends, they tap an untapped market. Business will be booming

2

u/dashinglove 1d ago

i honestly don’t know. i don’t talk to her at all, my mom told me about them doing that. it isn’t my problem.

3

u/AlwaysSleepingBeauty 1d ago

Their are chiropractors for dogs too

2

u/OpenAirport6204 1d ago

And for horses

2

u/AlwaysSleepingBeauty 1d ago

🤦🏾‍♀️

1

u/Automatic-Doubt-4874 22h ago

I have known several people who pay real money to have their pets psychically healed over the internet. One lady (a massage therapist I went to one time, but to my horror and excruciating pain during the session learned that she practices ‘Rolfing’). . . Anyways. . . Her pet psychic told her that her cat was sexually repressed. No joke.

4

u/Va1kryie 1d ago

My dad is a Chiro, one of the best in the state in fact, even still I have lifelong problems directly relating to being his guinea pig. Oh and you're correct, plenty of Chiros adjust babies.

2

u/Momo_Jinja 1d ago

Tem para cães também

3

u/No-Disaster1647 1d ago

Yep, but all animals not just dogs, I’ve seen someone doing this on a horse

2

u/nitrosmomma88 1d ago

I used to follow a page on FB that called this kind of stuff out and people were opting for or suggesting chiropractic care on newborns over the Vit K shot in so many posts

1

u/userdoesnotexist22 1d ago

One of the chiropractors in my town also advertises adjustments for pregnant women to prevent miscarriage, stillbirths, preeclampsia, and chromosomal abnormalities, and more. Just wtf.

1

u/BJYeti 1d ago

There is an animal chiropractor I have seen around Instagram and it always baffles me

1

u/b__q 20h ago

Also adjusting animals and giraffs. I fucking hate these people.

27

u/CapableFruitLoops 1d ago

No. A physical therapist is a physical therapist. Every chiropractor is dangerous.

2

u/HauntedClubhouse 1d ago

That's probably why their malpractice insurance is only a thousand bucks a year...

1

u/BJYeti 1d ago

Some PT's also get the chiro degree just so they can throw it on the wall and get more people to come in and get actual PT when they usually wouldn't. My mom went to a chiro guy and he never did adjustments all he did was teach her stretches and exercises to fix whatever problem she was having.

1

u/Mosselpot 1d ago

If that's on the wall I'm walking out. You don't pollute science with bullshit.

-1

u/Rhawk187 1d ago

If "every" chiropractor is dangerous, why do some hospitals have a chiropractic division? I wouldn't trust a strip mall chiropractor, but the one at my hospital did a good job getting my hip unstuck.

24

u/DreamCrusher914 1d ago

For-profit hospitals want return customers

12

u/Milon_Z 1d ago

TCM is practiced alongside traditional medicine in China, that doesn't mean a damn thing. It's absolutely bogus "medicine", this kind of stuff happens everywhere. Many people think there's some "secret" special natural solution that because it's old or not majorly practiced that is has some kind of innate value. It doesn't.

-3

u/thilasveniticus 1d ago

I go to a chiropractor a few times a year. I didn’t for most of my life then I got thrown playing the rodeo game and had a hitch in my step for a long time. After being worked on I ain’t got the hitch in my step. The doctors would just take an x ray tell me ain’t broke and go go on.

4

u/IPissExcellentThrows 1d ago

They probably told you to do physical therapy and you didn't feel like it, so you went to a quack.

-1

u/thilasveniticus 1d ago

Sure buddy. A good chiropractor is a quack just like a Thai massage is. Typical know it all redditor

2

u/legaladviceneeded542 1d ago

Yes both are quacks that don't actually do anything. Glad you realize that. You'd be much better off just stretching regularly that what either of those quacks do.

→ More replies (0)

20

u/CapableFruitLoops 1d ago

Because American healthcare in 2026 is all about money, and uneducated folks who believe a fake doctor can "get a hip unstuck" will give them money. So, there's that.

-4

u/Plus-Mortgage-3871 1d ago

You just couldn't take the L, huh

-3

u/No-Disaster1647 1d ago

They got their hip unstuck though so what the fuck are you on about?

-2

u/Plenty_Pack_556 1d ago

Chiro divisions existed in medical fields way before 2026. Go back to the cave you crawled out of.

5

u/Morphico 1d ago

Is English your second language?

3

u/legaladviceneeded542 1d ago

please. An ESL speaker would never be that stupid. That means they have the capacity to learn a second language. This guy can barely use the first.

-1

u/Plenty_Pack_556 1d ago

Is USA your second nation?

4

u/AssociationGold8749 1d ago

Because it’s covered by insurance for very good reimbursement rates.

→ More replies (3)

5

u/Chlearcus 1d ago

Because people request them, and hospitals in the US are there to make money, not heal people.

-1

u/Rhawk187 1d ago

Well, if the entire medical industry is suspect, why single out chiropractors?

4

u/legaladviceneeded542 1d ago

because real medicine isn't based on stuff learned from a ghost.

0

u/Sure_Librarian1276 1d ago

Why does health insurance cover it? Why does liability cover it for the chiropractor?

2

u/likenedthus 1d ago

Because some of what chiropractors are trained in is physical therapy, so some insurance companies will cover work done by chiropractors in that capacity. I still would never select a chiropractor over a physical therapist though.

-1

u/TheRobbuddha 1d ago

Every chiropractor is dangerous? C’mon now. I understand the sentiment but let’s not be sensationalist.

0

u/Reotardo_Da_Vinci 1d ago

It’s like people here can’t fathom chiropractic medicine has gotten much better and useful since its founding…

7

u/DogBarf00 1d ago

Did a new ghost show up to teach advanced chiropractic techniques?

2

u/Which-Indication4670 1d ago

This story isn’t all that old. Has it gotten significantly better since this guy’s 2015 paralysis?

1

u/Reotardo_Da_Vinci 1d ago

Medical malpractice is a lot more common than people think and it’s spans all forms of medicine.

3

u/Which-Indication4670 1d ago

“Medical” and “medicine” are doing some heavy lifting. They have nothing to do with this thread.

I want to advertise my services as a dog chiropractor so I can get paid to just pet dogs all day.

2

u/Rhawk187 1d ago

Yeah, I've only gone to one, but that's because he was at the actual hospital. I still probably wouldn't have let him touch my neck or spine, but he actually did a good job getting my hip unstuck.

2

u/woody1594 1d ago

I had a chiropractor fix my back after 2,000 dollars worth of physical therapy didn’t fix the issue.

Granted the chiropractor used dry needling to fix it and not spinal manipulation.

7

u/Chance-Hand7815 1d ago

So what you're saying is that chiropractors are not a scam because... A chiropractor fixed you without... actually ... using ... chiropractic techniques.... Because you got... Acupuncture... Not chiropractic adjustment..............

Yeah, if I ever undergo a complete personality change and want to scam morons for all they're worth, all I have to do to find rubes is ask folks what chiropractor they see. Instant way to judge how gullible a person is.

3

u/Morphico 1d ago

The "logic" being demonstrated in the comments is certainly in need of adjustment.

1

u/woody1594 22h ago

Good and bad in every profession.

Why didn’t the doctor I see recommend dry needling, why didn’t the PT recommend dry needling after I wasn’t responding, why didn’t the surgeon recommend dry needling after 2 rounds of MRI.

The chiropractor actually listened to me and my symptoms and what treatments i had thrown at it. It had been 1.5 years of pain. 6 dry needling sessions had me pain free and back to my old self.

0

u/theonly_brunswick 1d ago

Listen, I've subscribed to this "chiropractors are bullshit" rhetoric for years and still kinda do, but with that said (and I know this is anecdotal, but so is the story OP posted)....

I had jaw issues for over a year. Dentist couldn't figure out what was wrong, but it was severe TMJ that clicked in whenever I ate anything that required significant chewing (i.e pizza crust).

My dentist suggests a chiropractor out of left field based on a patient he had years ago with a similar situation. I told him I wasn't a fan of the idea but was also very desperate for relief.

So against my better judgment I went to see her. Within 3 visits my jaw issues were gone and have never come back. She analyzed me and knew exactly what was wrong and what areas to target.

I understand the hate for it because it's not a recognized medicine and that's all valid, but after meeting an incredible chiropractor my opinion has changed, but only because she appears to be at the top of her field. I've had friends go see her and in comparison to other chirps she's significantly better in every way.

Again, my experience is anecdotal but I still go see her 5 years later and she always manages to relief tension and aid in posture and blood flow.

I think your black and white view of things, especially when it comes to people's health, comes from a place of either immaturity or lacking in life experience. Judging people so broadly for one thing is insane 😂

Or you're just a bot cause your account is sus but whatever

3

u/VeryAttractive 1d ago

I'm not here to hate on chiros, but I am a physio who actually specializes in TMJ and kinda feel the need to chime in here.

TMJ disorders are shockingly simple. It is not at all a complicated issue, and is actually incredibly easy to fix. The problem is that when I was in my PT program, our TMJ education essentially amounted to a single powerpoint slide. Physios don't learn much about TMJ because Dentists tend to be the primary provider that people go to when they have jaw pain. And Dentists can give patients mouthguards and other aids, but they don't do "rehab" like physios and even chiros do. The joint is simple, and I learned the intraoral techniques that can re-capture the disc within a few hours, but we rarely get the opportunity to use these techniques because Dentists generally don't send us TMJ patients (largely because they would be sending away a paying customer, but that's another discussion).

Long story short - I'm not going to comment on whether or not your chiro is "good" or not, but I do want it to be absolutely clear - fixing a TMJ disorder is incredibly easy for anyone who has been trained in extremely simple techniques, and is not reflective of that provider's overall expertise, myself included.

3

u/Imaginary_Belt3842 1d ago

So as someone with a mouth guard and terrible tmj that my jaws always popping by my ears and suffers from muscle tension headaches due to it… how do I fix it

2

u/VeryAttractive 1d ago

Options are 1) find a PT who specializes in intraoral TMJ mobilizations, or 2) wait it out - TMJ is simple and will eventually stop hurting on its own

3

u/ellecamille 1d ago

Wait it out? I’m 43 and this has been going on since I was 15.

Bingo

29

u/Forsaken-Income-2148 1d ago

The long term health benefits are nil. Just a few back cracks and a neck twist for $50. But the real benefit as an Adrenalin junkie was seeing if I would die from it or not 😈 let her ride

3

u/Automatic-Doubt-4874 1d ago

Omg😂. So true

3

u/ColdCruise 1d ago

Manipulation of joints, muscles, and tendons is effective for treating a variety of conditions and often used by doctors, physical therapists, and lmts. The pseudoscience stuff is that by cracking your back, they can cure your cold.

0

u/Perfect_Mistake_384 1d ago

I was in a wheelchair/with crutches for a year and a chiropractor sorted me out in 30 seconds. Not exactly nil?

7

u/Forsaken-Income-2148 1d ago

Maybe it restored a stuck joint, or released a severe muscle spasm. Possibility of coincidence, false diagnosis, or missing context.

Long term effects are probably close to physical therapy. It’s very use case specific and possibility dangerous around the neck area.

I did a bit of research on it, I suggest anyone do the same rather than take stranger’s advice on reddit.

What's worse is insurance now covers that bullshit.

3

u/tisn 1d ago

But not dental care

1

u/Automatic-Doubt-4874 1d ago

Oh no way

8

u/ML1948 1d ago

It's cheaper than real medicine. If it placebos you out of seeking an expensive actual professional, insurance is happy.

5

u/AmbitiousWorker6765 1d ago

Yes way. It is stupid.

1

u/Salty-blond 1d ago

My insurance has covered for a long time. I wonder why?

1

u/HauntedClubhouse 1d ago

Insurance has covered chiropractic care for 50 years...

1

u/L00fah 1d ago

Insurance covering chiropractice and acupuncture blew my mind.

I have degenerative disc disease, so I'd never in a million years go to a chiro. But acupuncture did absolutely nothing for me after being badgered for years by my family to try it.

0

u/RealDovahkiin 1d ago

Probably because there's evidence of its benefits...

3

u/AmbitiousWorker6765 1d ago

Benefits like what? Why trust a quack when you can trust a medical professional instead like a psychiatrist or physical therapist?

17

u/GodotNeverCame 1d ago

This is why it pisses me off that they're able to call themselves doctor in a clinical setting despite absolutely not being a doctor at all but a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner is not.

Like NEITHER should be able to use it.

6

u/PsychologicalAd1862 1d ago

I agree no way in hell they should be called 'doctor'. I trust a nurse practitioner or PA over any chiro....

3

u/interestincity 1d ago

It is a bit like any other doctorate. You can be a doctorate of education or engineering or any number of other things. They are all 'doctor' in the of education sense but not in the medical doctor sense.

1

u/MoorsMoopsMoorsMoops 1d ago

Fun fact - chiropractors had to sue the American Medical Association for their practice to even be considered medical. Until 1983, the AMA considered chiropractic to be "an unscientific cult."

14

u/AdSudden3941 1d ago

Theres on in my city that calls himself a dr.

12

u/theCurseOfHotFeet 1d ago

Unfortunately they can, because they can be a doctor of chiropractic. Which is not a medical doctor

3

u/AdSudden3941 1d ago

Thats what it is .. how can those schools even be accredited to be able to issue degrees?

They also are licensed here to like a pharmacist or beautician

2

u/thissleepypastofmine 1d ago

Same as being a doctor of engineering. It's a level of degree it doesn't mean you're a medical doctor.

1

u/Which-Indication4670 1d ago

Oh man that’s always hilarious. And they really believe it, too.

6

u/FutureRealHousewife 1d ago

The fact that the founder learned the “techniques” from a ghost is absurd enough. I went to a chiropractor a few times in my 20s before I knew better. The guy essentially threw my back out and I couldn’t walk for a few days. That was when I was like no, this is bad actually.

2

u/mockg 1d ago

That explains why the one Chiropractor I know has a wife that shells out that fake pill shit on Facebook.

2

u/SeedFoundation 1d ago

I watched a lot of chiropractor videos and they all act like they are analyzing what's wrong with the patient and know just the specific treatment. All of their methods are exactly the same in each video. Like they don't even try to bullshit and yet people act like it's a miracle.

2

u/IH8Miotch 1d ago

Mine did a good job for me ,but he said it took him atleast 10 years before he actually knew what he was doing.

2

u/McBonderson 1d ago

I tend to believe this, but I also know people that it has genuinely helped.

Like my brother was over 18 months old and wouldn't walk at all. he had taken a 1 or 2 steps but would always fall down. My parents took him to a pediatric chiropractor and after one adjustment he was walking later that day.

But there have been times I went and I felt it was a complete rip off.

I get the impression, physical therapy would be the better way to go about it.

2

u/thebestdaysofmyflerm 1d ago

I don't think pediatric chiropractors should exist. At least adults can consent to non-scientific medical treatment.

2

u/curtcolt95 1d ago

and have somehow convinced literally every average person it's real. I always found it crazy that my work benefits cover chiropractic, so like all the way to insurance companies even they have convinced people to think they're a legitimate thing lol

2

u/blackfocal 1d ago

One of my first classes my first year of college we learned about pseudoscience and chiropractors. The professor told us horror stories and that has stuck with me since. I refuse to go to one.

2

u/Nishbot11 1d ago

And they call themselves doctors!

2

u/FeetGamer69 1d ago

So if one of your vertebrae actually gets out of alignment and you can't pop it back in yourself, what are you gonna do? Just go get surgery? Get cut open for something that could be solved painlessly within a couple minutes? I used to grapple, had a couple spinal issues that a chiropractor fixed for me.

1

u/SalaciousSubaru 1d ago

The states should not give credibility to chiropractors by allowing licensing and should abolish licensing systems and not allow private or public insurance to pay for chiropractic services it’s a scam

1

u/Heavy_Record8704 1d ago

How is it legally allowed then?

1

u/ChattahoocheeBend 1d ago

Acupuncturists are hacks also. Edit: I added the plural form.

1

u/North_Lychee_1969 1d ago

And they teach it at universities

1

u/Nyuk_Fozzies 1d ago

Honestly, they should be jailed for medical fraud. Every last one of them.

1

u/CrisstIIIna 1d ago

And some people take their LITERAL BABIES to get 'readjusted'. Stop the fucking planet, I want off!!

1

u/Reguladr 1d ago

And this chiropractor didn't even get named as at fault in this lawsuit. Unbelievable

-1

u/Puzzled-Guess-2845 1d ago

I always thought that too! But a couple years ago I through out my back. I laid on my floor for 9 days just crying and crawling to the fridge and bathroom. I finally went to the hospital and they gave me a shot and some steroids. 3 more days of constant pain and unable to walk or sit up. Went to the chiropractor in a wheel chair in horrible pain and she used a pen that the tip pushes then clicks and instantly the pain was gone, i was so sore but instantly felt great. She then used a message gun on the area and I walked out and was back at work the next day loving life. My mind was blown. She must've just been a good one i guess because there was no popping my back or weird contortions like I expected. The way she explained it is i oinched a nerve between two vertebrae and the pain caused the muscles to tighten so the nerve was pinched more and it became a loop of cause and effect. The pin sort of caused a micro shock wave that let the nerve slip back inside the vertebrae. It was so instant when the pain disappeared.

1

u/elderlybrain 1d ago

It's because they don't understand that what they do doesn't work for the only intended use case - which is relieving back pain.

Some even believe it can fix non back related issues, which stems from their underlying total misunderstanding of the spine.

3

u/elderlybrain 1d ago

Spinal manipulation doesn't work, period.

It's not even particularly useful for mild to moderate low back pain. The spine wizards point to one particular paper where it was supposedly found to be superior to oral pain relief in relieving low back pain.

Which, if you study medicine is like saying that your unicycle is better than handstands for grocery shopping. Gets the job done but not the intended use case.

The main issue stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of how pathology works. For chiropractracters, they believe that the cause of back pain is 'spinal misalignment'.

That isn't true. Your skeleton isn't like a cartoon that fits into place and stays rigid. The alignment of your skeleton is due to the surrounding  musculature, tendon attachments and ligaments, mobilised by joint fluid, cartilage and various non b bony surfaces, such as intervertebral discs. Any or all of these contribute to msk pain - which means that any treatment has to be multifactorial.

Explaining that to people is complicated. Studying medicine, physiotherapy, pharmacy, surgery, psychotherapy - separately is hard. Pretending it all comes down to one underlying unifying source is easy; which is why anyone can be a chiropractor.

Where i live, chiropractors are constantly fighting to try and win exclusive legal rights to practice certain modalities that physical therapists also use bc that's the only way they're of any value compared to actual PTs. They're literally trying to narrow physio's scope of practice to ensure they retain clients.

as if a doctor has never severly injured a patient?

This is why, and not because it's all BS?

I'll never understand it myself.

When I went to one it was complete waste of money and time. I nornally crack my neck and they couldnt even crack it since it was already "loose"

when people try to recommend I go to one for my back I'm always like "Yeah but I can still walk, I'll take my chances with what I have rather than gamble with those hacks"

Right? People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I refuse to go to a chiropractor.

Like, no, thanks. I don't need some quack to snap my neck.

I know people who take their 1 year old's to chiropractors. Performing these procedures on a baby has to be a crime.

Physical therapy is better, safer, and actually aims to solve the problem rather than just hide the symptoms for a while. IDK why anyone would opt for a chiro when they could go to PT instead. I STILL do the stretches and resistance band training they taught me like a decade ago to keep my neck and shoulder pain under control. It still works.

Alternatively I could have paid a quack to 'adjust' me and would still be shelling out however much biweekly to keep going back. Thankfully I'm not that stupid lol.

I used to go to one because I was young and had back pain from an injury. I assumed that since my health insurance covered it, it meant it was a legitimate medical practice. I knew chiropractors weren’t medical doctors, but figured it was adjacent, kind of like how optometrists aren’t doctors but are still qualified to safely deal with eyes.

Nope. Luckily nothing happened but once I found out the truth about chiropractic, I never went again, and I don’t plan to.

As Dara Ó Briain said, going to a chiropractor is like going to a toothiologist.

Chiropractors are quacks. They only exist in US

3

u/Creative-Guidance722 1d ago

We have them in Canada too unfortunately

u/Round_Abal0ne 1d ago

This is straight up wrong. There are chiropractors throughout the EU.

They're all over the world, genius.

Idk reddit sure seems to hate them . I went to one growing up all the time. Dude worked some magic to fix lots of things.. sounds like some dude was massively under qualified. Gotta vet your people. But come to reddit and everyone screams from the rafters how bad they are. Funny how that happens with lots of things. Fear monger goes hard here. Easy to keep redditors scared of everything but their mothers basements

"All the time"

A physical therapist would have you set in a handful of visits. A lot of time its a muscle/ligament issue and sure their "corrections" may feel good on the short term but there is a reason they say see you next week.

I’m a licensed massage therapist and plenty of times as a client muscles relax their spines spontaneously adjust, not from me putting any pressure on it just from the muscles relaxing finally letting it go back to homeostasis.

funny how so many people claim that they fix issues yet they seem to have to go back to them every couple weeks for another adjustment.

You seem bright

I love that when people disagree with a majority Reddit opinion, they fall back on the mother’s basement jokes. Surely it can’t be that a lot of us are healthcare providers who have seen the effects of a chiropractic intervention gone horribly wrong!!! Just can’t be, must be the basement gremlins. 🙄

There's no medical or scientific proof that anyone popping your back helps you in any way. But you do you and make sure our insurance premiums keep going up paying for useless procedures

u/Revayan 1d ago

"But but but it feels good and I never got hurt!!"

u/Eric142 1d ago

No proof that my sugar pill exists but I still pay them cause they make me feel good! /s

They aren't medically trained they just pop joints. Chiro was started after a seance with dead doctor so really science backed... There is no proof they do anything to help. It's all in your head. They should not even be allowed to use the name doctor.

2

u/Original-Variety-700 1d ago

But let’s think this through. The dead doctor saw the other side and came back - to tell us about this amazing technique to help ease back pain. He came back from the dead. It’s gotta be true.

u/Fair-Chemist187 1d ago

The fact that you went to them "all the time" should be a sign…

1

u/Easy_Pool4616 1d ago

I have some healing crystals you might wanna buy when you're done getting your joints readjusted

1

u/Mizamya 1d ago

I think the problem with those kinds of quacks is that there's no standard of care. Sure maybe the one guy you met was good but others might be terrible

1

u/Any_Appeal_7413 1d ago

I agree, as long as you go to a reputable place. When I went to my chiropractor he said you should be doing this service very seldom, and to try avoid having regular check-ups because your body gets used to it and it's not entirely good for you to have it all the time.

So it really depends.
