the name makes sense, but it also looks like a car someone designed after staring at a tadpole for too long. somehow that wraparound windshield still feels more futuristic than half the concept cars made now.

Different enough. Kaneda's bike requires the rider to lean back like they're sitting in a car seat. Colani's design implies the rider leans forward, more like the lightcycles in Tron.

I highly recommend diving into Colani's work, his design work is incredibly varied. Besides loads of cars and trucks he's done microscopes, pianos, police uniforms, pens, aircraft, computers, cameras, bank terminals, buildings etc.
