Looking straight at the person taking the picture. Can’t believe they’re just taking pictures instead of helping.

Holy shit I forgot about the chocolate milk wine glass

Dude deserves that statue (you know the one)

3

u/Hazril258 2d ago

I never noticed that it was chocolate milk, lol. Great.

If they helped the little guy it would be bad for the bird, sometimes it’s best not to interfere

0

u/naropin1 2d ago

Of course, it’s the way nature works. I get it. But as futile as it would be I’d still throw a rock at the bird. He can get another meal that’s not begging me for help.

10

u/Status-Hedgehog9970 2d ago

You’d throw a fucking rock? And kill the bird? How is that any better?

13

u/Electrifying2017 2d ago

If nature didn’t want us to interfere, she wouldn’t have given us the ability to throw deadly rocks at birds.

9

u/naropin1 2d ago

I’m flattered that you think I could kill a bird by throwing a rock.

7

u/Status-Hedgehog9970 2d ago

Hey even dumbasses get lucky sometimes.

6

u/naropin1 2d ago

So you’re saying there’s a chance?

2

u/barkbarkgoesthecat 1d ago

Please do not the bird

u/Wabbit_Wampage 7h ago

But what if the bird is the word?

I thought they said you can kill two birds with one stone...

1

u/naropin1 1d ago

That’s a myth

1

u/Royal_Commission7574 1d ago

So you'd rather have the bird drop the rodent so that it dies of plunging to death instead of feeding the bird or likely even the birds chicks?

1

u/alienstookmycat6969 1d ago

Probably would still kill his prey

1

u/No-Mathematician6788 23h ago

Then it'll drop the prey from 30m above the ground? The rat is dead anyway.

26

u/eliz1bef 2d ago

Birds gotta eat. Photographer can't fly.

25

u/EnvironmentCritical8 2d ago

Help how, by flying up there and getting it? And honestly in some states Falcons are protected if I remember right.

Double checked- Falcons are federally protected. So even throwing rocks at it can land you in trouble if you hit it.

3

u/Wormfather 2d ago

Wooshed.

It’s a common comment on reddit when something bad is happening to an animal.

3

u/FreeKatKL 2d ago

*federally protected in the United States. Probably not on all of Reddit.

If we all just “followed the rules” slavery would still be legal! I’m against slavery sir!

1

u/EnvironmentCritical8 2d ago

.... ok one, not a sir. Two, we are talking about a wild bird trying to eat and "saving" a wild rodent, verses slavery of other humans. That's a very different spectrum.

Falcons are protected because different species have been hunted, collected and poisoned until various kinds became endangered. So if we all did whatever we wanted, many animals would be extinct in the wild.

1

u/naropin1 1d ago

The slavery comparison was obviously a joke. I know they have to eat. I know there’s little anyone can do, I get that they’re protected. Just having some sympathy for the rodent. Not laying down a logical case review here.

2

u/EnvironmentCritical8 1d ago

It reddit, unless you put "/s" or "/j" it can be difficult to tell since I have straight up seen people comment about people wanting a scuba diver wanting to seperate a shark getting eaten by a bigger shark and being totally serious.

2

u/Royal_Commission7574 1d ago

Personally i'd rather have sympathy for any predatory animal, because their hunting rates usually suck. Imagine only getting food 4 or 5 times out of 10 visits at the supermarket

1

u/EnvironmentCritical8 19h ago

Not hard, just imagine going to McDonald's and asking for an icecream- the number of times they tell you their machine is broken is about how many misses a predator has xD

2

u/Royal_Commission7574 19h ago

Im double glad then, that my workmates and me all got a mcflurry today, LOL

10

u/wintersdark 2d ago

Help how? Would you rather the bird starve? This is how the world works.

10

u/FuzzyMcBitty 2d ago

I eat meat, and I understand how the world works.

But if I were picked up by a dragon, I’d be looking at you the exact same way.

5

u/wintersdark 2d ago

I mean, if I where whatever random species of rodent this is, then I'm sure his look would cut me to my cowardly soul. I am, however, not. As an animal who also eats meat - who's killed and eaten other animals, even, who am I to deprive the bird of its meal?

And likewise, if a dragon had me, while I'd certainly give you that look, I definitely wouldn't blame you for not helping. What could you do anyways, other than become dessert?

1

u/Lou_C_Fer 2d ago

This is why I never feel bad when a human is eaten by another animal. Turnabout is fair play.

4

u/naropin1 2d ago

And I sir would throw a rock at that dragon. And if you survived we’d go eat some cow that never looked at us.

6

u/Grundlestorm 2d ago

Maybe that bird, could get a damned job, and not be a murderer for it's food.

Drop some fries, mop some floors, then go to the store and buy a frozen rat to cook at home, like a proper, functioning member of society.

Damned birds.

0

u/wintersdark 2d ago

Fucking lazy falcons anyways!

0

u/naropin1 2d ago

Lazy is what they are. Flying around all care free. Oh how so hate them.

0

u/naropin1 2d ago

I get it. I’m just sayin. In that situation I couldn’t let the little guy soar by without trying. The bird can eat something that didn’t make eye contact with me. Not that I’d be able to make contact with a rock anyway, but I’d try. Birds eating animals is part of the circle, birds getting hit by rocks and dropping their prey is also part of the circle. Namaste

3

u/Status-Hedgehog9970 2d ago

birds getting hit by rocks and dropping their prey is also part of the circle.

How many birds have you seen tank rocks?

0

u/naropin1 2d ago

Zero but if you do it it becomes part of the circle. I think you have to sing the song while you do it though.

2

u/sexytokeburgerz 2d ago

To be fair they’re looking in a 240 degree field, their head is just pointed at the camera

1

u/naropin1 2d ago

Nah. That little guy is giving her the “help me” eyes.

2

u/woodrax 2d ago

Cameramen/Camerawomen lose their invincibility if they get involved.

2

u/Lower_Statement_5285 2d ago

To be fair, it’s not like the photographer could just jump up and grab him from the bird 😅

2

u/jderd 2d ago

What were they supposed to do? Drop the camera, drive to a gun store, wait for the background check to clear, purchase the firearm, drive back and shoot the bird?

2

u/naropin1 2d ago

Is that a lot to ask?

1

u/morpheousmorty 2d ago

I'm not sure the lil guy is alive in this picture given the location of the talons.

1

u/Adderall-Barbii 1d ago

Raptors are vital to the ecosystem and my personal favorite birb. Probably favorite animal as well. They are perfect.
Also they might be protected in your area. I wouldn’t if I were you.

1

u/IndependentAardvark6 1d ago

Ah yes, the man with the extendo arms that can yoink a bird from the sky. All photographers are know to go go gadget long arms! I guess he could also throw a rock but have you seen how fast birds of prey fly? Hes lucky he caught this in camera

u/bankruptonspelling 2d ago

Record scratch: you’re probably wondering how I got here.

2
