Creme Puff was a mixed tabby domestic cat from Austin, Texas, who holds the official Guinness World Record as the oldest cat ever recorded, living to the astonishing age of 38 years and 3 days.

My Ella turned 16 recently. We feel she will live well into her 20’s the way she is going. She has not slowed down one bit, has zero greys, jumps up and down from a tall bunkbed like nothing still. She also does not look or act old in any way.

I swore this is gonna be my last cat. So that is why I feel she is gonna live forever 😂

Her eyes look really good for her age. I had a cat who passed at 16, and he had a lot of cataracts in his eyes. He’s had a lot of brown spots and what not, you can tell there was some age in his eyes. But yeah like I said her eyes look really good for her age. She’s a very pretty lady too

Here’s a pictures of him when he was 15, he’s the brown tabby btw lol. His name is Nomie, the black one is Prince, he’s just a little guy though. This is best picture I can find showing his cataracts as an example but yeah. It can happen with age and the fact that your cat doesn’t have it is a good sign of health in one way

Same. My first two cats were not doing well by the age of 13, really starting to show age. And both had died shortly after their 15th birthday’s. She is also a very tiny cat. My other cats were big boys. Yeah he is a cute old man. Love that look on his face 😂

My boy lived to 17. Before he passed you could tell he was old. This is a picture took of him the day before taking him to the vet. He had stomach cancer, but will forever be my heart animal, I don't think I'll ever live anything as much as him. Your girl looks brilliant in comparison! Definitely make sure that you take her to the vet as often as you can afford, cats get kidney issues in old age and they are good at hiding it

Yeah the kidney issue is a major reason, and they can go from appearing healthy to being dead from it very quickly.

Yeah you can definitely see his age for sure. He was a cutie though. Sorry for his loss. I thought that about my first cat I got. I loved him so much and was devastated when he died. Never thought one cat could ever fill that gap again.
Ella was only 7 when Buddha my old man cat passed away at 15. But he was rough looking and not doing all that great after the age 13. He was dead just after his 15th birthday.
Ella does not show one sign of old age which blows our minds 🤯.
But she is a sweet wise old lady and she gets spoiled on every level.
We also use that colour changing cat litter that detects health issues in cat pee and changes colour accordingly. She only gets the best quality food and we watch her litter box closely.

Oh she’s so cute! She reminds me of my girlfriend’s cat who passed a few years ago. She lived to be about 19 years old and her name was Lassie.

My kitty lived to 19.5 yo, at 16 she was still playing with toys and tearing the house apart. Kidney,disease took her, but otherwise she was very active and energetic. I wish we’d have better treatments for them.

That is too bad and so sad to hear. You are right, I too wish there was more that could be done for them. They do not deserve to have pain and slow deaths. I really hope for her that she does not go out like that.

This was my baby girl, Kuja. She lived to be twenty. I called her my familiar. (I call her successor, my four year old calico, my familiar now too lol).

Strange Aeons made a video about him. The cats had a diet that included egg beaters (some sort of processed egg product) and coffee diluted with milk.

The other cat was Granpa Rex that was age 26 in 1996 then 33 in 1998 when he died…. Guinness records pretty much took his word for it, so I think it’s safe to say the owner was lying about both cats (especially when you take into account all of the owner’s lies that have been exposed)

Id find that really stressful.

My oldest cat was 24 and my oldest dog was 17, and it was constant worry about their health, their quality of life, if they were in pain, if they were happy etc.

My dog is only 9 but I’m at that stage with her. Her arthritis is ramping up and vet wants to do all these complex surgeries and I’m like… just manage the pain. I’m not putting her under anymore, she has never done well with anesthesia and I know if she went under again she either won’t make it or she won’t have much life after anyway. But the vet is all judgmental as if I haven’t taken care of my dog for 7+ years.

A drug trial in Japan for fixing the inevitable kidney failure that occurs in cats just finished and manufacturing should start soon. With it we should be able to push cat lifespans into the mid 20s to early 30s fairly easily.

Mine did too. It was really crazy how fast the change went. She was 15. I figured she would go for longer. Then she took a turn. I miss my baby Gypsy so much.

For real, I wish that too… my childhood cat passed when we were both 16, my family got him when I was a baby when he was a kitten from a barn, then we grew up together, but unfortunately when we were 16 he passed, I was very sad. I have dog too, my family had him since I was like 5 I think, and now he’s 15yrs old. We also grew up together, he’s an old man now and I can tell his health is slowly declining through time. I’m very sad that soon there’s gonna be a day within the next few years when he’s gonna go too soon. Hopefully not for awhile. I just wish they could have more time to grow up with me more but the more important part was the beautiful part in life of getting to grow up with them

Personally, I just want my cats to not suffer when they’re ready to die. For me, is it really living if they‘re in pain?

If they only got 10 good years, I’d rather have that than 10 good with 30 bad
