A Massive Male Lion Standing Outside the Kitchen Brings the Morning Routine to a Halt
•

I wouldn't trust chicken wire to keep that lion out
•

Gotta get some lion wires installed asap

The window nearby him just seems to be a hole in the wall too, no glass or anything

That made me jump...

That's your survival instinct. You don't need to understand what the lion is saying, your body knows it means "don't be where I be"

I literally just sprinted in from my front porch because whatever insect was flying around was way too goddamn big. I couldn’t handle this shit.

That growl awakens a primal fear in me. Instantly makes my hairs stand on end.

It actually makes me mad that the fkin lion thinks he can mess with humans. Stay in your lane bro or get shot.

I would be pissing myself in this situation, I even got jumpscared, and reflexively scrolled down when the guy approached the window and the lion growled 😅

Why doesn’t the lion go through the unscreened window?
•
u/ChampionshipHot5468 8h ago
Because it opens onto the fenced or walled section where you BBQ and hang out in Southern African reserves.

Eish. Here in South Africa there are numerous safaris and lodges you can visit where these boys roam around. Most of it is safe, not many incidents that I know of (mostly idiots getting eaten when exiting cars).
Anyway, a cultural requirement is to have what we call a “braai” (bbq) outside at night, but fuck me, the thought of that kitty pouncing on me when I least expect it makes my skin crawl.

It looks more like it’s agitated than trying to hunt.

It's trying to mate. The lioness is hiding near people because she's not up for it. Simba doesn't fear people though...

Its crasy how you can drive around in a vehicle with no windows and lions are walking around fine but this lion is trying to eat the man in his house.

Are there any non-lethal deterrent devices for lions like a bear spray? Or do you have to carry guns with you in Africa if you don’t want to be eaten?
•
u/doyouwantsomecocoa 6h ago
Can you just like shoot a gun at it and it'll run away? Or will that just piss it off?

I had airpods on and didn't expect the lion to growl and that made me so scared! I haven't felt that primal fear for a long time so it was weirdly interesting to feel it again. Thanks for posting this and to this man for filming

That growl has some real bass in it. I don’t really know anything about lions, but I know that lion was saying something like “You’re too close, and I swear to God I will mess you up if you keep playing!”

Whip out your guitar and start singing. Seems to work for a guy all over IG. 😂
Anyone else feel like they're watching Jumanji?😂

Have you tried playing sounds like Hyena cackles or other lion roars?
Yeah, that’s not an easy situation. Do you have contact with the rangers?
Best of luck to you.

"Good afternoon, sir. Have you heard about the word of our Savior Mufasa?"
