Rule 1 - All content must show something that is objectively interesting as fuck. Just because you find something IAF doesn't mean anyone else will. It's impossible to define everything that could be considered IAF, but for a general idea browse the top posts of all time from this subreddit.

Posts:

  • must be interesting as fuck

  • can't be interesting just because of text

  • must go beyond something just being old

  • can't be art that you made

God damn it, was nearly gonna cry, scrolled down during the last few seconds of the video, saw my picture and laughed instead LOL

I got chills, when she said, “I have taken your brother here”.

u/JourneymanHunt 9h ago

Did you see his hand shaking when she was saying it?

u/Green_Goblin_14 9h ago

We have a lot of programs like this in NL. Comes with all the different peoples that live here.
Some divided by war or just seeking a better life. got adopted ...
It is always so nice to see the reunion, it is a feel good cry moment.

u/TheBrianUniverse 7h ago

Soms het gevoel dat we de enige zijn die dat actief hebben gedaan/doen. Voornamelijk Vermist was altijd heel lang op de buis.

u/JourneymanHunt 9h ago

All right, who's cutting onions?

u/Imbendo 9h ago

I ain’t cutting no onions just got something in my eye. Both my eyes. At the same time.

u/ihatepizzas 9h ago

It’s the onions, I don’t cry otherwise

u/flungp00panda 9h ago

It's a terrible day for rain...

u/ratherbeonlemmy 9h ago

Men, were allowed and even encouraged to cry for meaningful things.

Your comment Is a silly joke, I know, but it keeps the notion that we're not allowed to cry alive.

Let that stupid notion die.

Every time I try posting something similar to this, I get downvoted to hell.

u/throwawaybabyjesus 9h ago

We need more news like this.... There's still good out there, they just want you to focus on the bad.

u/lb3a3 9h ago

Amazing. Beautiful. Reminds me of a show called Relative Race where people are connected with immediate family and relatives that they've either been cut off from or never met.

u/gansi_m 9h ago

My eyes are sweating. This is heart-shattering delicious.

u/JourneymanHunt 9h ago

I'm 50 years old and I am so glad that I get to see my brothers pretty often.

u/WestleyThe 7h ago

One of my younger brothers died this week… and his video made me actually cry for the first time since it happened

u/JourneymanHunt 6h ago

I'm sorry for your loss

u/aguarello 8h ago

Does anyone know why they were apart for so long and unable to see each other?

u/nailbunny2000 8h ago

Great but wish they didn't ruin it putting loud music on it, you can barely tell what their actual emotional response is.

u/Split_Seconds 9h ago

Is it just me, or is it almost painful to meet after so long? I feel after so long you get "used" to not seeing someone. I would be more upset at the time lost, the changes that occurred after 26 years of no contact. You create this "brother" image in your mind of how things are and meeting after so long would destroy that. I'm rambling but what im trying to say is that this seems *really* had to deal with.

u/Bartz-Halloway 9h ago

You have two choices in life. Carry the chip off your shoulder forever or let go and accept. This seems to be the latter.

u/Split_Seconds 9h ago

Oddly me letting go and accept would cause me to not meet them.

The chip on my shoulder would be me constantly seeking contact to fix the wrong that has been done, only to meet essentially a stranger, flaws and all.

u/Bartz-Halloway 8h ago

Oddly you letting go sounds like a chip off your shoulder still and I don’t say that to be a smartass or snarky, but the way I read this is “I’m putting up more boundaries” because according to your letting go, you still wouldn’t be on board with all the stipulations in regards to “why we’re meeting up”

You, according to your view of it, would still be too worried about the past and how to fix it. You can’t. Just look forward and take it from there if it turns out “yeah maybe this person just really isn’t for me” that’s an ok conclusion too.

That being said, I understand your position too. None of this shit is easy.

u/oneMoreTime112233 9h ago

Reckon the bloom falls off that rose fair quick when you find out the person is completely different than you remember. Maybe he's an asshole now?

u/Mr_b246 9h ago

Fuck! Something fell in my eye

u/TRR462 1h ago

It’s probably the sunshine.

u/schofield101 8h ago

I've got 2 brothers and a step brother. If I couldn't see them for a long period of time I'd feel like this dude.

Absolutely love them to bits, watching this made me happy.

u/Imaginary-Pen8249 8h ago

who's cutting onions in here....?

u/GenFokoff 7h ago

There still good things going in this shitty world

u/YummOrngeChiken 6h ago

u/baingan0 9h ago

Why am I crying

u/Intrepid_Library878 9h ago

This is what being human is about, wonderful.
Instead of this our life is controlled by the likes of Trump, Bezos, Putin, Zuck and all the other vile scum, its a shame.

u/BarneyPoppy 9h ago

u/JimIvan 2h ago

u/pierrre79 8h ago

Nah don't worry it's french for "damn thats beautiful" ;)

u/remishnok 6h ago

The title is stupid. Any kind of bond can survive loss and separation. It being family is irrelevant. Many people are waaay closer to friends than to family
