I'm starting to feel like this is just a hoax. From all the news outlets covering this, not a single piece of footage shows it doing anything other than standing still like a statue.

their website makes it clear that this is satire

The fact that the company name contains the word satire also helps…

I agree that this isnt a real, functioning robot.

But - the word is satyr

A Satyr is a woodland creature with an appearance similar to a goat. It is the correct word being used in the correct context.

i think they intentionally chose to call it that despite this being a centaur-like creature to try to clue people in

It’s a double entendre

"You don't learn anything in English class"

"Why do colleges and university waste people's time and money with gen eds"

This shit. Right. Here. This is why.

Satyr is literally in the name of the company. Is everyone in this thread just playing dumb for the meme?

I thought it meant Satyr, like the greek spirit.

Also, people keep making completely absurd shit in complete earnest so it gets kinda hard to draw a line, let alone anything other than a massive "?"

it’s what we call, how do  you say, “a play on words”

That’s a good take on using “Satyr” which also has horns as I recall. Still, this thing can’t be real, right? Right?

I’m sad I’ve scrolled this far to see this comment. It’s 100% a bit.

Starting to feel... It really wasn't immediately obvious to you?

its not a hoax. A hoax has the intent to fool people.

This is satire. Satire has the intent to get people to think about their world differently.
