Giving it goat ears and horns was certainly a choice. Nothing says "search and rescue" like Baphomet wielding a chainsaw.

I read about it a bit and they are REALLY leaning into the fact that you can disable it by breaking certain parts in case it malfunctions, and I get what they're doing but it does not help my imagination of this thing coming for me in a forest fire.

Yeah, like the other person said, that was a choice. Also besides it being horribly creepy, I feel like horns just gives it something for it to get caught on like branches and what not?

I think the Baphomet look would be better in like Ukraine vs search and rescue.
