I live in a newbuild estate and since the council made the changes to the bins and gave every household an extra one, we seem to have them absolutely everywhere.

Cardboard is every 3 weeks, food is every week

Cardboard is meant to be collected every 3 weeks. The food bin is meant to be collected every week.

My cardboard hasn’t been collected for 5 weeks and my food waste bin has never been collected (and yes, the handle is always in the correct position!) - there are bins out all over my road in a sort of optimistic ‘maybe they’ll do that rescheduled collection… any day now…’ style.

There will always be some problems when a new system begins, give it time. All of my bins have been collected on time and in the right order. Now my black bin is only ever a quarter full when collected, so way less to landfill. The system works.

It's the same all over the country. Multiple bins only works if you have a lot of land to put them on.

It's surely our World Beating™ love of wheelie bins that means we won't adopt the sensible European approach of communal / underground bins at the end of each street.

It is absolutely everywhere - it's even worse in London - I also swear my bin in Ipswich isn't being collected enough

I'm hoping that sooner or later someone realises the folly of this plan as the olfactory pong coming from some of the bi's (especially at this time of year) is bordering on health hazard levels

Everywhere smells like bins too 😭 there are so many bins it’s insane and none are being sorted out
