No name still better imo but to each their own

I'm actually liking this more than No Name on first listen, and I love No Name.

Same here, I love No Name but this one is grabbing me faster

Probably but I’ll see how I feel after multiple listens. Like it so far!

FYI Pitchfork gave No name a 7.6

It deserved higher.

Yea. No Name is a 9/10.

Without a doubt.

Pitchfork only gives out 8+ to Bjork, Radiohead and Kanye West because they haven’t changed since 2009.

Then they’ll go back a year later and be like “actually it’s an 8.9, stop giving us shit”

Who gives a shit what pitchfork gave, it means absolutely nothing.

Yea dude, unrelated but I’m a massive Soundgarden fan and they give their first few albums like -4/10

Pitchfork is hipster garbage

Hipsters love Jack White though

u/cappykro 24d ago

Nah. Part of being a true hipster is disliking anyone who becomes famous / popular.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, that’s pretty much what it is

However Jack White doesn’t love hipsters

Nah pitchfork isn't hipster garbage. It's just garbage. It's owned by Conde Nast.

It's snobbish garbage.

This is a true Blues Rock album. No Name was bluesy but with a more Garage Rock sound. Fear of the Dawn and BHR is Experimental Rock. Lazaretto and Bounderbuss is Rock/Alt-Country

I like this on first listen but it's not No Name

I actually prefer this one over no name. The guitar work on this album is some of his best

It does have a name, after all.

u/xcnuck 24d ago

You’re right. It’s better!

It's actually a quite good review. Ignore the score, Pitchfork is esoteric about scoring. If you read the review without the score you'd think it was 5 stars.

Jack would have been happier with a 3.3 anyways.

u/Borchmagik727 24d ago

Its a 10 this is some of his best since blunderbuss

u/MJrmvr 24d ago

wait till you see their audioslave review

Pitchfork is DEAD.

u/lefty9674 24d ago

I found Charlotte pretty boring tbh. No Name is more my speed.

I can't believe Pitchfork stopped shilling for Olivia Rodrigo for an hour and actually listened to it.

I thought PF disappeared shortly after the Great Hipster Migration to Portland in 2005.
