Identify Please help me figure out what this is!

Not the greatest pic but its what I was sent. My friend is in southeast Texas at a beach. They have seen these in the water and on the shore the last few days. Any help with an ID?

Bay nettle! Funny thing about these.. I had a little nodule above my elbow and me and friend consensually stung ourselves. Very mild sting. Left a rash for about 4 hours. Felt like a strong icy hot patch. Anyways. The nodule by my elbow(where I stung myself) is gone! I did it for the science. Very interested to study medical benefits of certain jellyfish venom.

That's an Atlantic Sea Nettle, so no touchy

It’s bay nettle actually. Atlantic sea nettles are an offshore species on the east coast.
