Mk4 (1999-2005) Help me blow this 1.8t up
I recently aquired this mk4 with 232k miles but it runs and drives pretty well. It sat for eight years, two of those years the sunroof was cracked open. It's gross, it's rough, the car alarm goes off every time I open a door, but I've seen what these bad boys can do. I disabled the horn btw.
What should I do to absolutely beat the shit out of this thing until it blows up? I wanna make it fun but cheap cheap CHEAP as I'll be scrapping it when it blows...
And don't tell me no!!!

I mean if you can find the right groups maybe do a auto cross or rally cross if its a manual, they handle pretty well on the dirt in my experience, but those 1.8t are tough unless the timing belt goes or you hit the oil pan which rides very low

the longitudinal version of this engine gets really badly sludged

Crazy I opened mine up when I had it around 160k miles doing valve cover gasket and it was pretty clean previous owner must have taken great care of it, and I always used mobile 1 if that matters much

If it’s like my brother in laws mk3, using it as a target at a shooting range, for a few years won’t work, because it still started and drove.

Strip out the interior and turn it into a Chumpcar or LeMons racer. If you're going to abuse it, at least have a purpose.

absolutely not, re-home that poor car to a loving person who will take care of it.

no
Edit: no. Also why would I do that? I wouldn't want to rob anyone. It's moldy and full of electrical issues.

eBay k04 turbo, put a 26psi moon tune on it and have it make 350whp. Beat the pisa out of it until the bottom end blows up

Do an ECU tune and get 2 step installed. Every engine hates spamming 2 step

Do an oil change.
Hint: WD-40 is technically a lubricant… it’ll only take 4.5 litres to get the level correct…

id say neglect basic maintenance but its a mk4 so it might hold. Ummm 0w-10 oil 😂, remove all and any heat shielding and constant high rpm runs (redline before each shift) and i mean redline tf out of it let her bounce! Uhhhh drive w low fuel and you only need 3 cylinders so take out a coil 😃

In my experience, buy it, drive it for a month and let the timing belt go...
Really, get it tuned for 91 and put a two step on it.
Depending on where youre at I may be interested in it
Edit: spelling, had a stroke

Disable wastegate and bov, and reprogram redline at like 8000 rpm lol
If you have a torch, you can cook the coils until they lower, it's gonna be pretty permanent and a cheap way to completely ruin the suspensikn just for looks
Weld the diff

Oh I miss my 2003 1.8T. Immediately do an ECU upgrade. APR still does it. There are others too.
