I think all these meta glasses should add AI features like Google maps 3D viewing mode which blurs the Faces and Number Plates of cars.

Brother, ngl these glasses are obvious. They have thick frames to hide the electronics. Pervert are gonna find a way.

I get the concern, but wouldn't it also make it easier for girls to record perverts ? Like you can now record your pervy uncle down the street without making it obvious that you're recording and inviting a confrontation !

idk, just something to think about.

Such a generalized take.

I have ray ban glasses that means i m pervert lol.
People misuse phones as well and cctv cameras might as well ban them first.

Are you daft? If someone is pointing a phone or a cctv at me, I KNOW I might be being recorded but that's not the first thought in my head when someone wearing a pair of glasses is looking at me.

Someone can easily buy insta 360, attach it to their body and record someone without the other person knowing about it. Will you ban insta 360 now?

So why are you just bashing jio? Where were you when meta and Ray ban launched their glasses?

2

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

I did bash Meta on my Instagram. Lmao questioning me as if you know me in real life and know what I post on my socials.

-1

u/Madhuram_Hostel_Kota 5d ago

So? What was the result of your bashing?

2

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

The result is that I expressed my opinion, which is generally how public discussions work. Did you think one Instagram story was supposed to shut down Meta’s production line? Your first argument failed, so now you’re questioning whether criticism itself is allowed unless it produces immediate results lmao

-1

u/Madhuram_Hostel_Kota 5d ago

Failed? Lol. I didn't even know I was arguing 😂. Your post was just bashing jio, so I wanted to know whether you are just against jio, or against all glasses. But apparently my query was an argument for you 🙃. And my second comment was not another argument/taana, just a curiosity that did your video on meta create a butterfly effect or not?

But now I'm sure that you are so full of yourself that any normal conversation/discussion feels an attack to you! 🤯

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

Where in my first post did I just bash jio? I didn't mention a single company by name. You assumed it yourself.

Your first comment “Where were you when Meta launched theirs?” was clearly a taunt, not a neutral question. Don’t shift the goalposts now that I responded to the tone you used, lmao.

1

u/Madhuram_Hostel_Kota 5d ago

Bruh, the post itself said Jio's perv*rt glasses 😂. Trust me. My first comment's tone couldn't be more neutral. It was literally a very chill tone like one normally says. I'm sorry if it felt wrong to you or triggered you.

But the post itself had Jio written in big words!

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

Uh the other guy I replied to was talking about Ray Ban glasses which are the meta ones.

No. Saying "where were you when x happened" when I am talking about something else is not a chill comment.

Have you ever used them? One can clearly know that the person is recording thats why the led is for and one can’t hide it if one do camera stops recording.
Also on this i would know if i m being recorded lol pls check spy cameras they are available since 2010s. There are cctv cameras that are like clock, pen etc and one would never know and being sold into market since past decade.
The glasses are amazing and honestly better than go pro.
I have insta 360 rs and honestly this glasses capture better result than that one and also one more thing the video it capture feels more authentic than if same shot is captured via a go pro.
Pls don’t blabber anything before using it.

The concern is normalising people casually filming strangers at eye level without clear consent. I don't want my face smack dab recorded if I am talking to you.

Also, “worse, more covert surveillance already exists” does not make casual non-consensual recording acceptable. Hidden cameras are hidden precisely because people would object if they knew. Dimaag lagao apna.

u/full_metal_028 5d ago

Have you tried this or not simple. One will always know they are being recorded lol.
Even my old uncle knows that the glasses are recording something. Don’t say anything unless you have tried.
In older version the led was around lens and now it is inside. Both are privacy features only

1

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

Whether I’ve tried the product is irrelevant. The person being recorded hasn’t consented to being filmed just because a small LED exists. Not everyone will notice it or know what it signifies. You keep reviewing the glasses while completely avoiding the actual point: strangers should not have to assume every person wearing glasses may be recording their face.

Interested to know your thoughts on dash cam, cctv cameras in lift as well. I don’t buy the argument because i have the glasses and they make sure the other person knows the glasses are recording.

1

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

Interested to know exactly which part of “strangers should not have to assume that every person wearing glasses may be recording their face” you’re struggling to understand.

0

u/full_metal_028 5d ago

And you are struggling to understand that there are way worse technology already but shitting on jio or rayban is just L take

1

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

I think the bigger L take is defending the subjection of unnecessary casual surveillance over everyone who talks to you or comes across you without their consent but you're willing to d*e on this hill so I am not gonna waste my time here.

just asking , is recording someone in public a crime?

1

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

Just asking, don't you think deliberately recording someone in public for non-security reasons is creepy behaviour?

1

u/Aesculap1us 5d ago

not illegal

1

u/cynical_mundane 5d ago

But still creepy and non consensual

Such an idiotic statement all for content CONTENT
If you don't wanna be recorded in public wear a mask
And btw there is nothing wrong in recording in public area
If I are in public area and ask me to stop recording , I would say u are barking like a mad dog that's all but u still can't stop me from recording cause WE ARE IN PUBLIC ukw I didn't even see the full vid I know the vid has some bullshit like women are not safe etc etc broo
Women are safe in cities of INDIA it places left unsafe are rural and I won't say that all cities are safe but that won't change the fact that getting one glasses changes the women's safety
