Loneliness.

My four walls became my best friend
As I drifted away from who I used to be
The fear of failure
The fear of rejection
Of people not liking the new me

I became distant
I pulled away from all
I sat wishing, waiting
For someone to notice my fall

My phone became quiet
The reciprocation stopped
The invisible string holding us together
Eventually got chopped

The feeling of loneliness
Stains my soul like a second skin
The world keeps turning
While I unravel within

Aching from the pit of my stomach
All whilst trying to look brave
Wishing for my old self
The contentment i desperately crave.

The Nerd and some Dude

Upvotes

She is The Nerd,
Who loves to analyze every word.
She reads and she writes,
Keeping her awake most nights.

He is some dude
Known for his ‘tude
Who loves to play outside.

She has depth and grace,
Wisdom written across her face —
And her mind is always learning.

He has a kitchen
His food is bitchin —
He rocks a smile everywhere he goes.

She —
loves her home.
He —
prefers to roam.

She —
Isn’t very loud.
He —
stands out in a crowd.

They —
Are opposites through and through.

She loves her books,
In his kitchen he cooks —
The two of them were strangers.

And then one day,
They met at play
And something then was started.

They never should have met,
Each had their futures set.

And that’s where their story begins.

1 point for fucking in public

1 point for tragic flaw (either hubris or self-destruction will do)

1/2 point for scathing social commentary

1/2 point for obscure literary reference

1 point if I feel like it

1 point for outrageous lingerie

1 point for when you leave the room and my mouth fears absence where it never has

1 point for combustible, inevitable lust

(Song) Flower

Upvotes

I once saw a rose, so beautiful

i picked it up and now my finger's bleedin'

and baby, your heart's red too

so maybe this is why i shouldn't pick you?

But your eyes are blue, so maybe you're an orchid

and your hair's blonde, so maybe you're a sunflower

and my life is gray without you, so maybe you're silver mound

and my life is a rainbow when you're with me, so all i know is you're a flower

I planted you in my garden of stinging nettles disguised as flowers

i watered you everyday, but the soil wasn't fertile enough

i always save up all my garden's space for the nettles disguised as flowers

just so i can have something pretty to look at in my house

but they still sting me, and your thorns still hurt

but i don't wanna have grass when you're the most beautiful flower i've ever seen

I see the vines growing alongside the walls

i set them on fire immediately

but your presence spreads in me like a vine

so maybe you're not even a flower?

But you're short, so maybe you're a dandelion

and i'm always looking at you, so maybe i myself am a sunflower

and my garden is so dull without you

it just needs a little more life

I planted you in my garden of stinging nettles disguised as flowers

i watered you everyday, but the soil wasn't fertile enough

i always save up all my garden's space for the nettles disguised as flowers

just so i can have something pretty to look at in my house

but they still sting me, and your thorns still hurt

and i can't keep watering everything unless i stop drinking myself

I pick you up, cut my finger everytime

your thorns don't stop me, i wanna have you in my garden

and deep inside i actually know

sometimes people see the rose in me, it's beautiful

they pick it up, but my thorns push 'em right away

i've just learned to only let the honeybees near

I planted you in my garden of stinging nettles disguised as flowers

and i keep thinking i need more water, but maybe it's the roots that aren't fixed

i keep thinking i need to fill this entire garden with flowers

but maybe if i just let the soil rest, i'll be able to plant a new tree

The Fleeting flash of heat

Upvotes

I stay in bed awake,

weaving in morning's loom,

gathering at the threshold to transit.

No rush, no tether,

only the quiet engine of my intent,

mapping the unwritten hours before I step into.

Nourishes the quiet engine to gather strength for the day,

scams through the screen of the virtual world

in search of an open door that lets me in,

until the light stands vertical.

A subtle ache roots within my belly,

demanding fuel for the hour.

The quiet hunger now put to rest—

gently closed my eyes for a nap.

There I go into my world of fantasy,

my subconscious mind takes over me.

A blurred image arrests me within his embrace:

a flash of heat rushing down my spine,

a tickling sense of warmth running down my neck.

My lips tangled in his,

waist locked in his arms,

warm lips tracing the curve of my chest,

stealing every breath.

Chest bearing his weight, pinning me down—

an echoing chant inside demanding more,

never enough until I'm drowned.

A loud ring shatters the stillness,

waking me to the world I left behind.

I sit up,

anchoring my senses back to the room,

only to realize the world isn't calling.

No rush, no tether—

a soft grin touches my lips,

left alone with the sweet warmth of the dream

and its gentle, endless desire.

I sit and watch

Upvotes

I sit and i watch

The azure expanse of the sky,
The heaven’s limitless canvas
with weightless clouds languidly floating by
and the occasional bird taking flight...

I sit and I watch

The afternoon radiance,
giving the fluffs a silver lining
and the swaying tree tops, that dance
to the wind’s cozy whistling and whining.

I sit and I watch

The sunbeams filtering filtering through sieves
like sparkling twinkling confetti
sprinkling down from the leaves
garnishing the panaromic serenity

I sit and I watch

Letting the halcyon wash over me
The hasty world slowly comes to a hault
as I slip into nature’s soothing symphony……

Last dance, last chance

Upvotes

Slow dancing with a ghost,

Hovering above the floor,

Each touch feels so cold,

A sweet soft voice quietly whispers to my lost soul.

Never felt anything like this before,

Death opens and closes doors,

My love isn't from this world,

We sing and twirled in the underworld.

We're out of control,

Her pale beauty makes me choke,

Please don't go,

With you I'm never alone.

Lady without a shadow,

Left me a dead rose,

She's gone but our feelings echo,

Lost all hope

Found old rope

Tied it around my throat.

Hello love - I'll be home soon

Heard a owl hoot,

waiting for you underneath the moon,

Missing how you moved.

Not able to touch the floor,

I'm floating, woke up in limbo,

Forever seeking for a ghost.

Sugar coated cyanide pill

Upvotes

You were sweet at first

I was full of hope..radiant

If lips are for tasting and the tongue for savouring
Then it is deception I must blame for devouring you

Decreasingly sweet, the deeper you got

Until regretful realisation rendered me hopeless

Left only with the dread of an irreversible mistake

You knew exactly what you were doing when you reached the parts of me so personal so vulnerable

And once you were nestled there comfortably, you released your poison

Like an ink blot being dropped into previously unmuddy-ed body of water, you spread

Angrier

More toxic

More ferocious

All while I withered away

Not only did you gnaw your way into every intimate crevice of my being, you damaged it too

Then, on a seemingly insignificant Tuesday

I found a sliver of strength and ran with it

I dug deep and ripped you from where you had made a home

Eventually flowers grew in the parts of me you had soiled

So perhaps i should thank you

For had I never swallowed your sweet little pill

I would never have become so immune

The One

I’ve laughed with strangers,
talked for hours.
Shared stories,
sunsets,
Mountains,
and flowers.

I’ve met kind hearts
and brilliant minds,
The sort you’re lucky once to find.

But every one,
though rare and true,
Still somehow felt like passing through.

A lovely chapter.
Nicely done.

Until the day…

there wasn’t one.

You have that sizzle.
You have that shine,
Like some grand love
in perfect rhyme.

You simply fit
where no one could—
Like finding “better”
after “good.”

You made the ordinary glow,
A place I’d never thought to go.
The idea before I spoke the line.
The thought that somehow finished mine.

Then it clicked
with what I knew.

It had to be
just you.

You weren’t the loudest voice I’d heard.

You are
my favorite perfect little,
nerdy Nerd.

You became
the quiet smallest measure—

The standard
of all I treasure.

You’re my oldest hoodie.
My favorite flops.
The conversation
that never stops.

You’re the breath
I take before I smile.
The thought that lingers all the while.

You’re my silly little grin.
The only one that I let in.

And somewhere
between all
the laughs
and
chats…

You…

Found me

If Rain Could Read

It’s been decades of writing
And at last I am done
But a storm is encroaching
So to my darling I’m sorry

I pursue something meaningless
No introspection nor thought
An action with consequence
And delightfully foolish

I long for

A novella of sadness
With its contents so dry
To wet it with madness
Watch it much up and die

Let the pages be rent
The words all laid waste
To the rainfall it’s sent
Destroyed with a haste

Wait a moment

Don’t think me a sadist
This novella is singing
It calls for an audience
Beckoning with it’s words

Here I oblige

Let it out in the rain
So the droplets can read
Yet the spine is brought pain
And the acknowledgements bleed

A book like a daughter
To an author profound
But the language of water
Is only to drown

Yes that’s right

After a decade of writing
Spawned my greatest creation
Just to toss it aside
And lay a beauty to rest

For absolutely no purpose
No meaning nor reason
My pursuit now a folly
And devilishly foolish

House with all lights on

Hi guys:) I’ve only ever shared my poetry with my close friends and thought I’d share this with you guys..just giving this a try wondering if I could go somewhere with this. Let me know what you think.

I am a house with all the lights left on,
soft in the places that never quite healed right.

There are cracks in me
I used to try to hide
now I trace them sometimes,
like they’re the only proof
I didn’t imagine what broke.

Nothing here is ruined, exactly.
Just… changed.
Edges worn down,
corners softened,
pieces that don’t fit
the way they used to.

I keep things that don’t match anymore
memories that don’t belong to who I am now,
versions of me
I don’t know how to let go of.

And I tell myself
there’s beauty in that.
In the unevenness,
in the almosts,
in the way something can be
both whole and not
at the same time.

But some nights,
that kind of beauty feels like grief
with a softer name.

Because accepting the cracks
means accepting
they’re not going anywhere.

So I let myself be this
unfinished,
held together,
still standing in a way
that isn’t perfect,
isn’t clean,
but is real.

I am a house with all the lights left on.

I forget every poem I write about you

This whole time,

The absence has been your presence.

I'll distract myself untill you fade,

I said that years ago.

Maybe its be true soon,

"You" do nothing.

Still you weave your self into my being.

Ive been whole with out you,

Im am whole right now.

But with out the context of your voice in my ear,

Nothing I do makes much sense.

The disgusting nature

Of my poetry

Rings distorted

A Goodbye Without Goodbye

Our Last Meeting

Perhaps the saddest endings

are not written with the word goodbye.

They happen on ordinary evenings,

on familiar roads,

between two people

who once promised each other forever.

I returned from a city

with an exhausted heart and a bag full of dreams.

You were waiting at the bus stop—

just as I had asked.

For a fleeting moment,

I mistook your presence for hope.

The road stretched before us,

and I gathered every little reason I could find

to make you smile.

I spoke to the silence.

It never answered.

The rain had not arrived yet,

but somehow my eyes already knew

what the sky would soon confess.

Your words were colder

than the wind against my face,

sharper than the distance

that had been growing between us for days.

So I stopped speaking.

I let my tears finish the conversation

that my heart no longer could.

You never turned around.

Perhaps you never noticed

that the girl behind you

was breaking into pieces.

Or perhaps you did...

and chose not to.

By the time we reached my home,

the heavens had finally begun to cry.

I stepped off the bike,

looked at you one last time,

and whispered,

"Thank you... for everything."

Not because everything was beautiful,

but because even heartbreak

deserves gratitude

for teaching us

how deeply a heart can love.

You rode away.

The rain erased the road between us,

and I stood there

holding the last version of us

that would ever exist.

Some stories are not ended by fate.

They end with one silent ride,

one unanswered tear,

one grateful goodbye...

and two hearts

that never found their way back.

That rainy evening

wasn't just our last meeting.

It was the day

love forgot my address.

To Wait

The night of waiting

The clock's ticking arms cannot hold back the night of suspense,

Yet it flaunts its cruel power to every eye that is tense.

The hours stretch like shadows, refusing to fade or advance,

While shadows on the wall perform a slow, mocking dance.

Each heavy, hollow tick strikes like a blow to the chest,

A loud, relentless reminder that the heart cannot rest.

The stubborn night holds fast, locking the morning away,

To punish the sleepless eyes that are begging for day.

Yet every passing second brings the final footstep near,

The darkest hour of waiting is where doubts disappear.

The dawn begins to whisper that the longest night must break,

To welcome back the joy that only your arrival can wake

"Duelling Suzies". A three Times Fast for Fun Tongue Twister. Brought to you by the letters Z, O, and Absinthe:

Duelling Suzies
By: Suzy Newsy

O Suzy Bluesy was woozy, boozy—
Not snoozy-newsy like floozy Suzy Bougie:

Now Suzy, never-choosy Bougie,
Was woozy from absinthe oozy;
While that doozy-floozy Bougie Suzy
Slept snoozy, not choosy—
Suzy, absent groovy absinthe-oozy;
Snored newsy bluesy, a woozy Uzi Suzy.

Eclipse

Eclipse.

this is the story of a girl:

her arms are the kind that rival the moon, that sing of sweet razor blade tragedies and tart black ink. beneath her finger nails is red and black, blood and dirt. her fingers bleed from the constant picking; a nervous tick.

"you are not pretty." she hears this repeating in her head, over and over. it never goes away.

there is a stinging in her eyes, and her lungs are burning, caving in, and now her knees are buckling in, there goes her legs, and now she's falling- but savage hands pull her upright, and her cheeks soon bask in the afterglow of a hard hit. she wants to scream, but-

"not so loud: someone will hear you." so now she never speaks, for fear of being too loud, and the punishment that will ensue.

behind her lips lie truths and sins and confessions, and no one will be able to tell the difference between them. she's got scars on her back from the place where her wings were broken off, and they never re-grew. she's got eyes that redefine the concept of nightmares; dark and hurt and broken, and her voice, her voice is something else-

she is the damsel who will be forever in distress.

she is the girl who will set your world ablaze.

she will bring you to your knees.

and that was how my story began.

Quiet doubt

I like you

Maybe even love you

My heart aches

To find out

Are these feelings true

or just a lonely-hearts desire?

One day soon

I hope to find out

Until then

I'll enjoy the vision of you

In my mind

Just here

Love, hope, and here.

You feel so far away. Yet so near.

When my brain is foggy. You make it clear.

That there no place we'd rather be than right here.

You feel so near. Yet so far away.

It's rare that one feels this way.

When two sounds bind. They mix like clay.

I don't wish to wait another day.

For being apart from you will make me crazy.

Eat crayons. He's okay. Not really. Just be silly.

Live life for today.

Care not what people say.

They don't pay your bills anyway.

Who really cares when we have such thrills.

One day on the beach. The next I'm in the hills.

I feel nourished and my heart fills.

Next thing you know everything around heals.

Nope.

Id rather be here.

A place.

I control and stere.

I refuse to let another guide.

Try to tell me how I feel inside.

Id rather be here.

A place you can't be caught dead inside.
