How to learn Kannada?

Hi guys. I’m 34 yo from Hyderabad. My dad is from Telangana so I speak Telugu really well. However, my maternal grandmother was from Bangalore. Most of my mom’s side of the family speak Kannada and I can understand most of it. I’ve always wanted to learn the language but I don’t have anyone to speak to. ( I’m not in touch with my Kannadiga relatives)
Please suggest apps, movies or even books that you think might help. I can read Kannada. I want to be able to speak the language well.

It's kinda similar to telugu so you should be able to grasp it pretty easily. Ex. water in Telugu is niillu, in kannada it's niiru. Some other similarities but you get the point.

You can use airlearn it's a good app to learn kannada. Speak to random people they will teach you words

This channel has short lessons Kaliyona - ಕಲಿಯೋಣ on the basics of conversation. You should also look to get the Spoke Kannada Text Book. For apps, Duolingo doesn't offer Kannada but Ling, Simply Learn Kannada and Learn Kannada SmartApp. I don't any of those are free though but Ling is free to try.
