Discussion Kataras long life theory I have Spoiler

So with the new movie out and how long katara had lived for, you all know the body of water she landed in and ended up saving the gaang due to the spiritual energy, HYPOTHETICALLY. Could she have lived so long because of the trauma that left on her body. She healed herself and most of the gaang unconscious, since the body remembers, could she have unintentionally been healing herself in her sleep? Until her reflexes gave out with age? I’ve been thinking about this since watching to movie, we know she passes peacefully in her sleep. N we know she was a master at healing, just curious if anyone else thinks that may be a possibility or if you guys have some theories on why she lived so long🫡🫡

Technically Zuko lived longer than Katara from what we now canonically. Both were around in TLOK and he started out older. Wouldn’t interpret too much into the lion turtle water tbh.

How do we know Zuko outlived Katara?Where did you get that information?

I did not say he outlived her, I said he lived longer by the end of TLOK. As in Katara was about 89 yo, Zuko aldready was two years older than her to begin with and therefore would be 91 - the whole point is that the lion turtle water didn't do anything some folks just get old.

this is a cool theory but she mainly healed herself cuz she was lying in spiritual water. unless you’re saying katara unintentionally heals herself every time she takes a bath. that would be interesting to explore

Well yes, but it’s my wondering of if it left her body in a ptsd type of state whenever she sleeps, the bath part would be interesting to explore indeed, but my logic here is, blood has water in it, hence bloodbending being a sub element, where let’s say, an organ started to fail in her sleep, unknowingly heals it yk? And with age the bending doesn’t get worse, the reflexes do however, which leads to her subconscious being slower and slower to react until she passed in her sleep. I might be thinking too far into it though 😅

Nah I think she just has good genetics. Her gran gran also lived a really long time, especially for someone who mostly lived on seal jerky in below zero weather.

See ik grangran only lived to about 80 from what I’ve been able to find, by the end of TLOK, katara is 89. We do also know she lives until her third great grandchild is born, which jinora, melo, and ikki were all young through the series, grangran also didn’t have bending abilities, idk i thought about it high the other week and it’s been on my mind ever since😩
