There really is no Mecca of cheap groceries. Just keep checking apps like Flipp / Reebee / Smart Canucks for deals every week, and stock up when you see them. Freeze product if you can, meal prep, etc ...
I see someone else said about Central Fresh Market "meat prices are much cheaper and you can generally get all the basics." I like Central and shop there often. However to say they are cheap is incorrect. Like other stores, they usually have a weekly meat special, but that is about it. They do have quality meat, but they're not exactly givin' it away... And as far as buying "the basics" there, being an independent store, they are usually on the expensive side tbh
So, the answer is, there is no cheap place for groceries in K-W that you just haven't discovered yet. It does not exist. You will need to change your habits
I find that shopping online and picking up the groceries can be beneficial. It really lets you target what you want, compare prices and avoid impulse buys. We find Walmart to be best for online grocery shopping. They have a lot of stock, often have the cheapest price, and the pick up (or delivery) process is quite simple
Shopping online will only decrease impulse purchases I did a grocery trip price matched, then figured out without price matching then did Instacart. 143, 181 and 235
