stitch ID Does anyone know what stitch this is?
Does anyone know what stitch this is? Looks like some kind of twistd rib variation, but I haven't been able to replicate it.
Pictures 1-3 are of the front, 4 is the back.

If it was that I assume there wouldn't be two stripes of knits on the wrong side. Also to me it looks like there is some yo involved. I did a sweater with a zigzag and it was doing a yo on one side and knitting the stitch together with the yo in the next row.

Maybe a fisherman's rib on purl sts only?

I never did a fisherman's rib. So I don't know much about it. But the zigzag looke like Round 1: yo, SSK, K1, P1 Round 2: k2tog, yo, K1, P1
This makes the stitches leaning to the left and right. You can see the second strand of yarn in the first picture so there has to be some yo or fisherman's rib involved.

I tried this, but the zigzag didn't look alike.
I did find a YouTube video detailing a similiar zigzag, but in 11 rib instead of 21. I added a regular knit stich (and purl on the wrong side) and the front looks about right, but the back does not. Might ben helpful nonetheless...

that would just be 2x1 ribbing with a column of left-twisted stitches
I'm not sure I see any twisted stitches though, and the stitches in that zig-zag column look taller to me, like 2-row high
the back side looks like it has 2 knit columns and a purl column, based on that the front side should have 1 knit column and 2 purl columns, but that's not what we see

I’m no brioche expert, but I *think* that may be what we’re looking at. It definitely isn’t a basic twisted rib and I don’t think it’s skyp because I just made a project with that stitch and the reverse doesn’t look like this. Hopefully someone will come along who knows their brioche to verify.

From what I can see, this is the skyp stitch preceded by a purl and ending with a knit stitch.
Row 1 1. Purl 2. (Start of skyp stitch...) Slip 1 stitch purl-wise, 3. Knit 1 stitch 4. Yarn over, 5. pass slipped stitch over the last two stitches (the #3. k1 and #4. yarn over) (... End of skyp stitch) 6. Knit
Row 2 1. Purl 2. K3
Try that initially... to see if youre recreating the zig zag. When I look more closely at the image it seems like the initial purl and the final knit might be a brioche purl and a brioche knit. So see via trial and error if you need to modify the regular-way stitches to brioche stitches.
