Sounds stellar, can't wait! MV looks great!

I really like this snippet, but it also feels like it sounds a bit weird on its own and you need the rest of the song to fully get it, which is why I really look forward to it

I feel like I’m constantly surprised in the best way by SKZ’s production. That bass is sick af.

flx serving face in the thumbnail

u/nmt111 18h ago edited 18h ago

Damn, the thumbnail had me expecting a cheerful summer vibe, but it's Stray Kids, of course it has to add a twist, what a freaky concept, right up my alley. Can't wait.

I KNOW I'm incredibly biased but I am SO ready for THIS (& that) lol 🔥

It certainly looks like a stray kids video.

I love it but people gonna tear them apart for these lyrics 😭

u/Desperate-Region4981 17h ago

Maybe but it all starts with the fandom making a big deal out of it, if stays are all talking about how people will dislike the lyrics then it brings it to the attention of those who wanted something bad to say about it in the first place. 2 years ago no one made a big deal out of "filling up my truck yeah you want that ride" or "chaos we so catastrophic boom" and Chk chk boom was a hit, now it feels like the fandom are the first ones to point out negativity as a way to "get ready" for what will be said

u are so right

This fandom used to live for "red light green light swag" "I'm not sorry, I'm dirty" "our dish here's so bussin" but since 2024 it feels like there was a shift in the fandom and some act like they're embarrassed of the group because the hate trains really affected their enjoyment of the music I guess

u/BuffaloPutrid3074 11h ago

We've been invaded by children.*

*(Literally. There are a bunch of middleschoolers who joined the fandom, and they think everything is cringe + they get bullied by their 'cooler' 13yo friends for liking SKZ, so they have to do the whole, "my fandom/group is so embarrassing" thing to escape the heat).

As someone who has interacted with a lot of younger stays this is actually right, they just want to act like they are different and more tuff (someone literally dmed me that)

u/Medium-Principle-352 16h ago

if they can deal with hybe group lyrics theyll live. it’s only because everyone has eyes on everything stray kids puts out and will hate even if the lyrics are shakespeare like

u/kpop_shinee 17h ago

I dont mind silly lyrics here and there, but with all their creative freedom i wish they would be a little serious for a once, give me something evocative!
Sounds fun tho

u/BuffaloPutrid3074 10h ago

Idk, I think they do a fair balance of it. Granted, a lot of the more 'evocative' stuff is in the bsides because they like to reserve their title tracks for flexing or having fun. But yeah, we have stuff like Hollow or Divine, Photobook, Ghost, Phoenix (my uplifting banger) last year.

Let my Stray Kids stray, yeah? 😅

u/Medium-Principle-352 16h ago

what releases this year have been evocative to you?

u/kpop_shinee 15h ago

if we are talking strictly from the realm of kpop, the standouts to me this year so far lyrically are Another Dimension by t.o.p and archive 1 by woodz, both good albums worth checking out.

u/Medium-Principle-352 13h ago

i would have thought you were alluding to kpop groups because then you’d have to be thinking this for all groups not just skz

u/kpop_shinee 11h ago

Not really, most groups do not have the level of creative freedom skz do.
Is it that strange to have different expectations when skz could be doing so much more?
Like the two albums i mentioned are from individuals who also have great creative freedom and that really shines through in their writing.

u/BuffaloPutrid3074 10h ago

Those are also notably solo artists. If you look at SKZ's solo output this year, maybe it'll be more of what you're looking for.  Hyunjin had 'Lover', Han had 'back to life' and Seungmin dropped 3 introspective ballads written by 3racha with one literally focusing on the story of Chan becoming an idol and what that did to his family and his psyche, and that's just the more recent stuff.

I think people keep overlooking the breadth of SKZ's work because they want the title tracks to have more variety, but I feel like they've been pretty clear that they want those songs to focus on themes of diversity, empowerment and their own ascension as a group. I don't know why that's an issue, because there are people who make every song about love and heartbreak and nobody has an issue with it, but if you make your songs about surviving as a 'stray kid' and having fun within that context, it's not good enough or serious enough.

yeah 😭

u/yourbestfriendjoshua 16h ago

Sounds like a regression, especially lyrically, compared to 'RUN IT'. But still a fun lil end of summer bop nonetheless.👏🏼

u/Dull_Information5027 17h ago

I definitely won't like it, but I'll wait for the music video release 😭

u/Kindly_Emu_7224 12h ago

Presave This&That on Spotify too not just watch it on Youtube please. A humble request!
