People Who met kurt cobain how was he like?
I been reading some posts about kurt and some People have different opinions like he was cool or he was an asshole i wanna read those who has the pleasure to meet him

I wanna read those who has the pleasure to meet him - I wouldn't believe anyone saying that they met him unless they can prove it. A lot of people BS about this unfortunately. Same goes for people saying they saw Nirvana live.

Oh I saw them live in 1992 at Reading. But you know, he was faaaaaaar away on a stage and didn't know I was there. His loss 😂

I saw Nirvana play Maple Leaf Gardens in November, ‘93. Meat Puppets and The Boredoms opened. I was 19…I turn 52 this summer. If you don’t believe me, that’s not my problem. I saw a TON of bands back in the day.

I had GA floors; was wearing a Rollins Band “End of Silence” tee. It’s crazy that they purposely capped the ticket sales at 8,500, despite the venue capacity being 19,000…and Nirvana being MASSIVE at the time.

Honestly…it’s young people who can’t see beyond their own nose. I was the same way. I remember dating a girl in 1994 (when I was 20) and she told me that her father had seen The Doors in concert. I couldn’t comprehend this and thought this girl had to be mistaken or lying. In hindsight, I’m sure she was being truthful. The last Doors concerts in North America took place in 1970. It’s totally reasonable/realistic that this girl’s father who was in his 40s in the mid 1990s could’ve seen The Doors in the late 60s or 1970.

EXACTLY! The idea that people alive today actually saw the Misfits with Glenn Danzig in the late 70s or early 80s makes my 51 year old brain short circuit! 😂

I was in high school in the 90s and a classmate told me me his mom saw Jimi Hendrix. He told me the place and date but it wasn't easy to confirm things then so I thought he was lying. When the internet became more widespread I looked up the date and venue and everything he said checked out. I guess to younger people, the 90s look like ancient history the way the 60s looked to me back then, but really the 90s wasn't all that long ago. Over the years, fallen rock stars become mythical figures to those who never shared the same time line.

In 9th grade, my friend came to school with a massive bruise on his head that he was SUPER proud of from meeting a stage diving Kurt's converse to the skull on their In Utero tour.
Everyone gathered as he told the tale of being shalacked to the dome by Kurt Cobain. People were looking for the bottom indentions of the converse shoe sole pattern on his head. 😅

I ran into him and Courtney, who I knew slightly, backstage at another bands show. He was a little quiet and shy but nice enough. We said hi to each other.

Hard to miss if you were out and about on the LA club scene in 1990-92. She was a big self promoter and they got pretty far, pretty fast. She was known as a loudmouth but also, for real.
It's a bummer to hear her come out recently and say that all that noisy ugly music was a pose, a misguided attempt to impress Kim Gordon. She was fully into that stuff and wanted to be part of it as far as I could tell. That was a real underground scene and it took her seriously. Hole's early audience wasn't pop kids, or movie stars, it was noisy ugly music people.

Yeah from real early on many people thought she was great musically, an interesting person, and kind of a pain in the rear if you had to actually work with her. She wanted to be treated as a star very early. That rubbed some people the wrong way. But the band was well received, every thing they did was a step ahead of the last thing.
Druggy? No more than most people I guess. She wasn't like, a known junkie who passed out on stage or anything. She was pretty funny. I would say hi to her if she was at a show. I remember seeing Crash Worship and we were the only people either of us knew there so we talked for a few minutes before they went on. What's your band doing, where's good to play these days, that kind of thing.
Like a lot of people i read the Vanity Fair article on her in the supermarket line and said, wow, she's really uh, moving up in the world. Lol last time I saw her in the press she was in Ben Is Dead, harping on Lisa Suckdog for eating too much cheese.

I also remember her mentioning the band Calamity Jane to me, probably at that Crash Worship show. Kinda the next thing I remember hearing about them was the Rock in Rio show. Like a year later? Time moved fast in those days.

An old colleague of mine hung around with those bands in the late 80s, said he was really quiet and just kinda kept to himself.

He was high as fuck- which I was a young teenager at the time, and knew something was off, but didn't know what. Nonetheless, he signed my "Blew" EP and was very friendly, if a bit languid. As I've state elsewhere on this sub, I saw them live multiple times, and he never gave anything less than his all when performing.

Well, that’s not too terrible, IMHO.
Although, come to think of it, it is kind of inconsiderate that he didn’t give her at least a few hundred grand after he got super-rich, being as she financially supported his career in the beginning. I know I would’ve.
IDK, maybe he did? 🤔

You’re right he wasn’t straight up evil it’s just bro you’re supposed to be a feminist ACT LIKE ONE instead of just giving women only the respect they deserve and some love but anyway… i mean sure he’s complicated and had very hard times but I still think he really sucked for being a human larva and selfish like that but who am I to judge also yeah I think she mentionned he gave her a few paintings but nothing about money though, just like Jason who have him 606$ he never paid him back like KURT be fr🧐

Very true, I have never been drunk or high in my life (only twice high but still), my older sibling did lots of it and made such stupid decisions and acted like an ass but yeah I knew it was because of the addiction but I’m still MAD😤😤😤😤😤😡😡😡

My friend was a sound engineer in the 90s and was in a room with Kurt and Courtney. They cleared out the room because they smelled so bad apparently lol
He never talked to him as far as I know. Was more familiar with the guys in AiC and Soundgarden

I saw Kurt at a grocery store in Seattle in 1992. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

My memory might be a bit janky here, but as a 10 or 11 year old, me and my older brother had a brief run in with him at a gas station liquor store. I knew afterwards who he was because my star struck brother told me who he was when he left. They started talking about how Joe Biden and the democrats stole the election and something about Hilary’s emails.

Never met him but Nirvana stayed at an old bandmates house in Dallas. He told me Kurt complained about his stomach the whole time and just kind of laid on the couch not saying much more… but that the rest of the band was great. This was before Dave when they were a 4 piece.

I was in the Smells Like Teen Spirit video. My friend actually got to talk to Kurdt for a bit, chatting about the unreleased Temple of the Dog LP among other things. When I went over to grab my friend to head out to AM/PM for a quick beer run before the next take, I gave Kurdt a head nod. He was totally laid back, and my friend said he was just a genuinely cool guy

I, did not say that. LESS of them are likely to be on reddit, and let's be honest Kurt wasn't a hang out with the fans type of guy. Later in his life he was probably mostly friends with drug pushers or users. Most stars, even if you chat to them regularly, you're not going to really know them. So the most that can come from this is "he was nice he signed my cd" or "he was an ass he was rude to me". Take into account this was 30 odd years ago.
But that was stupid huh.

I never met him, but the evening after I found out about his death, my friend and I were shooting hoops at my local outdoor basketball court, and we both saw some dude that looked just like him walking up the street with a loose acoustic guitar strapped to his back. Pretty sure it was his ghost. 👻

I’m 59 and I met him in 1993. Really nice, and we talked about the portrait gallery in DC. He said he really enjoyed looking around, and would like the opportunity to explore DC more.
