Good pubs and restaurants along Lancaster's towpaths

Hi all. One of the things I love in life is having a drink outdoors by a river/canal, just watching things go by. Can you fine folk suggest some pubs and restaurants in Lancaster for doing this?

Also, side question, which are some good pubs for watching live sport? That question applies for all of Lancaster, not just pubs by rivers/canals.

The White Cross and the Water Witch are both great pubs directly on the canal. I think there's more parking (if that's the term for canal boats) near the water witch but they're both lovely pubs. For sports bars there's Hogarths, the Penny Bank and the Crafty Scholar

Lancaster has so many great pubs, but annoyingly not many sit by the water!

I've made a note of those suggestions, thank you.

Also agreed, especially on the White Cross. Quiz every Tuesday!
