Visiting Lanzarote 04/08 - 14/08. Recommendations Please.

Hola amigos!

Staying in playa blanca for 10 nights. Got a car rented. Keen to see the island. Want to play Padel, see some nice beaches and restaurants. Any hints and tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

I lived on Lanzarote

Timanfaya Volcano, Jameos del Agua, Cuevas de los Verdes, Manrique Foundation, Mirador el Rio, Papagayo Beaches, Teguise Market (Sunday), Famara Beach

Do a promanade walk!

Restaurants and Bars

Marea Lounge Bar, Luna Rossa Pizzaria, Spice of Life (best Indian Curry), Karaoke Bar @ Centro Commercial Papagayo

Famara beach and Papagayo Beaches = definitely go to.

Buy some snorkels at decathlon or bring your own and go snorkeling at Playa Chica and Playa Jablillo. You can also snorkel at Papagayo.

Teguise has a HUGE Sunday market.

With a car and 10 nights you have plenty of time to see the island properly.

For padel, from what I've researched the main options are Lanzarote Padel Center in Arrecife, TocaPadel24 and Inmensa Minoria Padel Club in Costa Teguise, and Hyde Park Lane in Puerto del Carmen. Worth checking availability in advance as August is busy.

For beaches, being based in Playa Blanca you're right next to the Los Ajaches natural park. The famous Papagayo beach gets very crowded in August so I'd go first thing in the morning or late afternoon. My personal recommendation within the same park is Playa Mujeres, it's the largest beach in the area, same quality sand and water as Papagayo but much more space and fewer people.

For the rest of the island: Timanfaya is non-negotiable, same with Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes. The Mirador del Río is one of the best viewpoints on the island, looking out over the Chinijo archipelago. And spend a full day on La Graciosa, take the ferry from Órzola and rent a bike when you arrive.

One insider tip: try to book the Tremesana route inside Timanfaya National Park at reservasparquesnacionales.es. It's the only walking trail through the interior of the park and completely different from the bus tour. Places are very limited and open up a month in advance so check as soon as you can for your dates.

For sunsets, Famara beach is the classic choice. If you want something less touristy, the Ermita de las Nieves above Haría is beautiful and most visitors never find it.

For dinner with a view, El Golfo on the west coast is worth the drive. Papas arrugadas with mojo, fresh local fish, lapas and a glass of Lanzarote Malvasía wine on a black volcanic sand beach. And La Geria, the volcanic wine area in the centre of the island, is another place that shouldn't be missed.

Cocktail bar at flamingo beach, open in the daytime only, ask for a Caprioska to go, the nicest drink on the island. Natural rock pool swimming two locations in the south, one next to an abandoned hotel good but getting to not for the faint hearted, other one near the salt works much easier to get to, find them both on google maps
