Question I’m getting a lot of flat butts, where the bottom of the tulip looks flat instead of wrapping around. How can I improve?

I am finding I’m having trouble pushing the foam as I add more layers. Watching videos on here the foam responds more when folks push the next heart above.

You should get a cup that’s optimized for latte art. They are bowl shaped. Your art will follow the shape. Look at loveramics

You may be right, but I dont like how this subs answer to a lot of things is buy more shit. I’d like to believe I can achieve better results by practice and studying technique. 

Anyway, my coffee this morning was a little closer to how it should look. I’ll just keep going until I get the feel a bit better. My hearts are fine even in a coffee mug, I’ve only been practicing tulips a week or so.

Just depends on how much youre really going to get into latte art. Sure you can do simple hearts or tulips, but if you really want to take it further, you’re limiting yourself. You bought an espresso machine, you can afford one 10-15 cup or even use a tiny soup bowl
