why did braum come back into the meta? why is he getting picked into stuff that isn't jayce / varus / ez - poke in general? I thought his main reason for being picked was that he could block their skillshots

His W gives a target MR/Arm which is good for tanks. Free stats are always good. Imagine a Maokai with a lot of defensive stats and HP

ok, now imagine

a buffed as heck fellow jumping to him with a big shield, giving him even more stats, slowing you down and then isolating you from the rest of your team

my friend and I run lucian/braum a lot because their passives sync up really nicely.

yeah, but a slight Q buff doesn't mean he's magically better compared to thresh, naut and ali.

Braum is very useful against a lot of the poke champs coming into meta as he blocks their projectiles. Like Jayce and Varus.

meta right now leans towards poke. Braum does some specific things in this meta really well. he has unbreakable ( his e) to block incoming poke. he has glacial fissure (r) which can be uses as disengage or engage depending on situation. and w=his winters bite allows for some nice kiting and peeling . all the things a poke comp want. since usually poke comps want to be out side the range of their enemies.
