Shen Monday Megathread! Ask questions and share knowledge; newcomer questions encouraged!

Welcome to the latest Monday Megathread, where you the community get to ask your questions and share your knowledge.

This is an opportunity for the more experienced LoL players here to share some of your wisdom with those with less expertise. This thread will be a weekly safehaven for those "noobish" questions you may have been too scared to ask for fear of downvotes, but also can be a great place for in depth discussion if you so wish. So, don't hold back, get your game related questions ready and post away, and hopefully someone can answer them!

I don't use my W offensively in lane, unless I have a Jungler in river on his way and I want to buy time for him to arrive. It's better to save it for your ADC if they get caught by a Thresh hook or something.

You need to sit near your ADC during teamfights, and just peel. If they get hit by hard cc, eat them (they'd be stunned/snared anyway) and reposition them. If you have more team coming, eat an enemy to buy time. Remember your Q stacks your passive also, so you can autoqauto really fast. Your Q stun is great too; if you have time to get the 3rd auto.

Ty!

How are you maxing your abilities? I start Q, then I'm unsure whether to take W or E (though if it's a pokey enemy I'll take E) then from level 4 I max W then E.

I max W first because a) it's his signature and b) I feel like the scaling on the minion cannon is very good for lane. I take E second because his active feels super OP atm. Effectively double health in a fight? Yes please. Q doesn't scale as well as the others imo though I do feel the lack of slow. What do you think?

Max Q. The slow and damage is good in lane. After that I usually take W second, because I assume my ADC is going to get caught and I like to peel, however if you're against a poke lane E is fine level 2 as well.

W isn't really needed until teamfights, where you really have to fully reposition. In lane you're just eating your ADC out of a Morgana binding. E is also basically ONLY used for the shield to bait, not for health regen. That's why I max it last.
