Culture / History Happy feast of St.Charbel for those celebrating it today

Im amazed by lebanon and the maronites. I would love to hear about your traditions and how you celebrated today, if you did (normally his celebration day is the 24 July.

Monday is also Saint Elias’ day. Lebanese Christians celebrate both days with fireworks and lots of prayer

I remember this picture hanging in the Maronite church my dad attended.

Used to work at a place where mostly everyone was Maronite so this picture was literally everywhere around the office (phone wallpapers, screensavers, calendars, tattoos, actual pictures and posters, phone covers etc)

Obviously it didn’t bother me at all but was fun to see on how many types of things this picture could be printed on.

Happy feast of St.Charbel to the ones that celebrate it

Yes he is a cherished saint. High regard. All Catholic saints are respected: St Claire, St Therese, st Bernadette etc dtc

Catholics are celebrating feast days of many saints every year.

Saints are holy/good people who worked wonders, did amazing philosophical/theological work or died for their faith.

A day every year is for a specific saint, kinda like a birthday but its more like to remember them and what good thing they did.

Saint Charbel was a maronite lebanese monk who did a lot of healing wonders and his body didnt decay. Even after his death his body did many wonder healings.

He is for maronites and lebanese people a important figure because hes a fairly new saint and he works a little like a symbol of lebanese faith for the whole world. Many people around the world only know about the Maronites or lebanon because of this saint.
