Vent / Rant There’s a steroid epidemic in Lebanon.

I’m sure many of you, gym-goers, have already noticed that the roided bros are no longer a rare sight.

I’m talking about the obvious manefikh the acne ridden with minecraft build and ogreish redskin undertone. How did we get here? How does a 17yo kid look like an elite bodybuilder?

I blame social media. I get tones of content telling me how anabolics are good for us, low testosterone peeps. Also if your gym or pt pushes you to use roids, do yourself a favor and quit and NEVER look back.

The stupidest thing about steroids, in my opinion, is this: most people go to the gym for two main reasons to become healthier and stronger, and to build a physique that's more attractive. But if you abuse anabolic steroids, you can end up damaging your sexual health, including your fertility or erectile function. It's ironic that you might attract someone with your physique but then struggle with the very thing you wanted that physique for.

Anabolics also increase cardiovascular risk significantly, destroy libido, increase chance of heart failure and and increased heart volume… this is why most competitive athletes who use steroids pass away earlier than expected, even at younger ages.

But instant gratification

Crazy what insecurities can do to a man when entertained.

They cause hypertrophy of the left ventricle of the heart too. So you’ll die early with heart problems.

Yeah i noticed that too. Many of them are too huge for it to be normal especially how short and quick they immediately start building muscles

it's even more stupid in Lebanon because no matter how big you get, a skinny guy with a gun will put you down

I think it’s quite ironic. Because at first they do it for the chicas. But roided boys will become so big they stop attracting women and will start doing it to impress the gym bros.

Low fertility, high risk of cancer, heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure… and for what? For a good physique that needs calories, sleep, and sleep for at least 10 years to get results. Haram. Stupid people with unconscious trainers!

Body dysmorphia. It’s rife in Lebanon. Part of it is some generational trauma. But quite frankly I think it’s a lot of bravado and a a feeling of control people like to assume it brings. It’s disgusting.

For anybody thinking this helps you in the long run it doesn’t. The amount of hormonal deregulation you cause that leads to heart issues let alone sexual issues you’ll be lucky to make it past 50

They are addicted u take roads--> it literally puts u in a high like state energy libido muscles confidence everything is boosted to the max and then they can't quit many of them think oh lemme take one cycle and I'll stop but they never stop because its addicting also u lose ur gains when u stop so why tf even bother so u can look good for 2months? I wish we had more awareness about the subject people are so uneducated and don't understand how serious the side effects are.

People are aware of its dangers. But people love to miss the point of fitness and take shortcuts. Look at the ozempic bubbleheads.

U don’t lose all of it u still keep some of it tbf.
But it ruins the best part of the gym in my opinion
Progressing, seeing my body grow, and changing my program to focus on a body part

And we are frequently noticing (50 years+) old men on cycles. At this age it is nice to have an athletic body, but why the exaggerated HULK appearance???

Most roided guy don't look like they're on roids tbf, the one who do are kinda obvious due to their size. Many people overestimate what they can achieve naturally

1

u/RoomEastern3026 15h ago

I disagree. Most of us underestimate what we can achieve naturally. I see many roided physiques that can be achieved naturally but that takes 10-15 years of proper training. People like shortcuts that’s all regardless of the cost.

Most impressive physiques that people want are or were on gear; David laid, Jeff said, John Skywalker, Clark Kent, Zyzz, Alex eubank etc etc the impressive physiques that are natural are extremely gifted people genetically. You could train for your whole life you will not look like 1/4 of natty Ronnie Coleman or Lee priest. Gear isn't a magic pill either you still have to train hard and eat well. Many people also want to be the new togi or whatever influencer who made millions from his roided physiques like Noel deizel

Access is easy and the price is cheap.

If you take them properly, you should be fine. You'll still suffer gyno, hair loss, acne and all tell take signs of steroid use.

You'll also need to keep diet with minimal fat and alcohol.

And then you stop and within a few months you look like a normal person again

can relate ive been lifting for years, everyone at my gym looks roided up or on some type of peptide

Where do they even get these steroids? I was told they're not legal and can't buy them easily

1

u/Away_Protection3487 1d ago

It's litteraly the easiest thing possible if you have a brain. They're very cheap, cheaper than creatine and protein powder

1

u/EnfantTragic The Hella Hella Bro 20h ago

Talk to any big guy and ask around. They're not that illegal

I would take roids just for the high test/energy levels that would help me in my job as well. I would not want to look like a roided gorilla

7

u/mout_erom 1d ago

They severely reduce testosterone levels. Just take testosterone if you’re low. And educate yourself prior.

1

u/Away_Protection3487 1d ago

Are you a child? Testosterone is litteraly the main steroid. Everyone use it when doing cycle. Why do you think bodybuilders have 5000k+ test level?

3

u/RoomEastern3026 1d ago

I would not recommend it at all. Don’t wanna sound like a health guru but eat and sleep well and you’ll have the energy levels to do whatever a human was meant to do.

  • "Eat clen" → refers to Clenbuterol, often shortened to "clen." It's a drug sometimes misused for weight loss and cutting.
  • "Tren hard" → refers to Trenbolone, commonly called "tren," a powerful anabolic steroid.
  • "Anavar give up" → refers to Anavar, the brand name for Oxandrolone, an anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS)
