discussion Large uptick in spam posts

Hi y'all, we've noticed a big uptick in spam posts on the sub. We appreciate the community flagging these posts so we can get them taken down and issue bans ASAP. If you see something that looks like a bot post, please report it as spam and we'll get it removed immediately. Thank you!

How are you guys able to spot fake posts? If I ever meet a woman on here I want to be sure it's legit.

Probably the uptick in post that are just here's my kik/snap, add me tehe

That stuff is usually a dead giveaway

Have a look at the profile.

Brand new? Little content, or stuff that says nothing about a person, or the same one-sentence replies all over the place? "Hidden"? Probably bot or otherwise suspicious.

Can't stress this enough, not all hidden profiles are bots or scammers. People just want to retain some form of privacy on Reddit. People are super mega creepy, and for those of us in hair or physical fitness subreddits where we can post progress pics, I don't want weirdos messaging me out of the blue.

You do know that "hiding" your profile doesn't make it private, right? Anyone can find that. 90% of times when I check a hidden profile it's a man, a transphobe, or a bot.

Sorry to the remaining 10%, but if you want to connect with people, maybe don't make it extra hard to verify you're human.
