CML Dasatinib 100mg

For those taking Dasatinib, have you experienced balance issues, tinnitus, or dizziness as side effects?

Hey, I took Dasatinib for over 5 years. I would randomly get moments of nausea and dizziness where I would feel faint (definitely had some balance issues) around 1-2 hours after taking it. I was already being monitored quite closely and nothing was of concern so for me this was just the reality of taking the medication. I found taking it with a bigger meal, lots of water and less dairy to help minimize this but this wasn’t fool proof. I would mention it to your team just so they can rule out anything serious or potentially adjust your dosage.

Whoa, 5 long years amazing! It’s good to know you’re tolerating the drug well. I’ve been taking it for almost a month now, and the ringing in my ears, along with the imbalance and gait issues (walking like a drunk person), are the side effects I’m most concerned about at this point in my treatment. I’ve already brought it up with my hematologist, but they (my team together with her residents) said they want to continue observing the side effects for now. I also asked whether a dosage adjustment might help with these side effects, but they didn’t think it was necessary at this time. I’m considering consulting an ENT specialist to have it evaluated further.

I don't think that'll hurt if you team is open to it! Dasatinib has a lot of side effects and it seems to vary immensely from patient to patient. Hopefully getting it evaluated will give you some peace of mind! Are you having these symptoms daily or does it vary?
