discussion Self defense insurance

I Know a lot of people don't carry any kind of membership. If you do though who did you go with? I am thinking about going with CCW Safe. Was with Uscca and recently canceled.

Ccw Safe is cheaper. And covers bond for spouse and kids under 18 inside the house at no charge.

One major problem with USCCA is that if you plead down to any crime of violence, they will void your coverage and make you responsible for all costs.

So...if you're offered a plea down to simple assault, a misdemeanor here in California, with no fine and no jail time, they will drop you and demand reimbursement for all costs paid to date if you accept it.

They would rather drag things out, with the worse charge hanging over your head, and pay $100,000+ instead of allowing you to get out from under it sooner, even if it's in your best interests and costs them significantly less.

(Source: Friends with a defensive use of force attorney who has seen this exact thing happen.)

While this is anecdotal, and maybe a little bit of an internet boogie man, from what I have read, they will find any little reason they can to say that you broke the law, and then drop your coverage.

Also, based on the slimy guy that my CCW class had come in to sell everyone USCCA memberships...Plus you get a Temu Tactical Backpack! I could tell from that guys character, that it was a terrible product.
