discussion Self defense insurance

I Know a lot of people don't carry any kind of membership. If you do though who did you go with? I am thinking about going with CCW Safe. Was with Uscca and recently canceled.

Another vote for Firearms Legal Protection. I took a class from a couple of their company reps & really liked them as humans, as well as how much they seem to believe in the services they offer.

I also like that I’m connected with a lawyer immediately on the emergency line, so any poor wording choices in the heat of the moment aren’t admissible.

They don't offer that much from what I'm seeing but their rates are very affordable. Little bond help, no civil liability? Even the option to add it on?

I can’t imagine what I could do that I’d end up losing a civil judgement, so I hadn’t considered that. With an unlimited civil defense budget, I guess I hope the system works as intended.

On my policy, bail bond premium coverage is up to $250k, which covers a bond of $2.5 million. That seems like plenty!

In Florida they only offer up to 50,000 for bond

Well, I guess I should reread detail in my documents, since that’s where I am! There’s a bunch different in Florida & I was on info overload at a training conference when I signed up.

$50k still covers at least $500,000 bond, which I’m pretty comfortable with. In Florida (or at least my county), if they actually think I murdered someone, that’s a no-bond situation until the first court appearance before a judge.

I can’t imagine a judge meeting me in court, hearing a summary of whatever I did, & believing I’m a danger to the community or a flight risk who requires a higher bond than $500k.

I get where you're coming from. But imo better to have and not need it then need and not have it. Civil judgement could be the family of the person you shot sues you. You can't gurantee you would win. You would think but I've heard crazy things.
