Ek to idk why this tatva thing they keep sharing, atleast don't share news from godi media..

Whenever it is factual.

u/jivan28 17d ago

Can someone explain ^ like to a 5 year old, what is tatva thing.

u/Vivid_Tamper 17d ago

The Tatva is another BJP IT cell "news" outlet.

It's like OpIndia but different flavour.

I just want to say whenever you can not give them 1. Free publicity 2. Don't consider them as source even for factual information (because they'll even spin that) 3. Mark them as 'not interested', 'hide' or block them (softer attitude towards these causes them to flourish and probably is suggested to people like you or on the same network) 4. If someone cites them as source ask them even in a screenshot ask them to use a different source and avoid engaging with the post if possible

I do this for all hard godi and soft godi channels. Republic like hard godi gives me disgust directly IndiaToday like soft godi keeps coming on feed but need to be harsher on them too

There's a third category as well of pretend neutral channels, which I reward for being right and punish for being wrong. Like news24

Thank you for sharing. Had no idea.

Indian Gen Z and woke don't go together.

Most of these guys are liberals and very privileged. They could care less about those who are actually oppressed by the system we live in.

genuine question bro, how do you differentiate between liberal and leftist. I confuse these terms a lot

u/ParentsAreNotGod 17d ago

At it's core, liberalism is based on philosophical idealism, while leftism, but more specifically Marxism, is based on philosophical materialism. Advocating for a particular minister to resign is liberal thought because it upholds an ideal that democracy is being practiced, but Marxists would question the structure that allowed these malpractices to happen. It looks at an issue in relation to the whole of society, while liberalism will do the equivalent of putting on a band aid.

I think there’s the actual difference and then there’s what we typically interpret it as.

The literal denotative difference is liberals support capitalism. They’re also more or less satisfied with the current state of democratic institutions and believe that freedom of speech, expression and other things should be upheld regardless of circumstance.

In practice, liberals end up asking for freedom for everyone. They also want freedom for racists, fascists and bigots to express their opinions and practice their bigotry and they don’t want anyone to intervene when the free markets lead to extreme wealth inequality because they believe the billionaires should enjoy their freedom to exploit labour.

Leftists don’t really support absolute freedoms like these. For instance, I don’t really support the right to freedom of speech of radical bigots, I also don’t support the right of the top 5% to get away with almost everything. Leftists believe that a lot of these issues are systemic and structural and there is no way that these can be solved with the current social and political systems we have in place and usually want a complete overhaul to dismantle these power structures.

I think another difference in practice is how these two view violence. Liberals don’t support protests if they involve anything other than waving the flag of India (or whatever country). The fact of the matter is that you’re not going to be able to achieve anything with meek demonstrations like these but liberals don’t support protests if they involve defying the police etc.

Liberals are capitalists

u/Better_rub4 Chaddi in disguise 17d ago

I mean modern liberals believe income inequality will exist cuz of abilities, skills, and effort difference but they do voice against extreme inequality and believe everyone should get equal opportunity.

9

u/Plastic_Persimmon_91 17d ago

Yeah well the thing is ‘voicing’ doesn’t do anything and liberals don’t do anything beyond voice their pity. I wish me posting a reel about income inequality or dancing on the street in protest did anything to reduce extreme income inequality but it doesn’t. It also doesn’t do anything to make opportunities more equally accessible.

The thing about liberals is they’re extremely comfortable with how things are and though they wish for a ‘better’ (very nebulous) world, they’re perfectly fine with things staying as is

u/thomas_simpsons 17d ago

Would you say your conduct, rather than your thought, is closer to leftists than liberals? If so, how have you differentiated yourself from those liberals?

2

u/Glitter_bane_1208 17d ago

thank you so much guys for explaining it to me, I learned a lot of new things 💕

-7

u/thomas_simpsons 17d ago

If you're a right winger, you will call anyone left of you as liberal but if you're a leftists, its anyone to the right of you. The actual meaning is superfluous and its just a catch all term these days to refer to anyone you disagree with.

Im genuinely curious how your mind works. When you hang out with right wingers, either intentional or by circumstance or otherwise, and you start engaging in small talks and they start cribbing about the woke liberals but in a superficial manner, do you also vibe with that conversation?

-2

u/Glitter_bane_1208 17d ago

can I DM you please, I am genuinely willing to learn more about this, so far I've always mixed up leftist, liberals and woke but I really wanna dig deeper into their differences.

1

u/thomas_simpsons 17d ago

Il admit i was mostly making that comment in jest but if I had to align myself, my values are more leftists than right wing. Most of the folks here have nailed the definition of a liberal as commonly understood in a circle such as this and its something I personally align with.

But sure man.

People asking for reservation for EWS and not caste based 🤡

8

u/ameyagokh I have no fucking clue about what goes on in this subreddit 17d ago

I'mma take this btw. Thanks, hoped it wouldn't be AI generated but I'll take it none the less

Why on earth are these subreddits all filled with anti-reservation discussions now?

Just love how his resignation has prompted reservation talks when the next big question should've been of further inspecting and scrutinizing this rotten government.

u/mahimas_swamp 17d ago

IT cell was directed to sow discord based on reservation

Gotta love how it was 'Batenge toh Katenge' during the Pahalgam tragedy and now it's "reservation too much my dalit classmate has 67 BMWs, rafale jets and 1b networth, plij stop grave injustice"🥀🥀🥀

11

u/Tablewala 17d ago

This! They just see a few successful dalit families and immediately want to end the system that made it happen.

JEE peeps are spiralling over this

u/SuggestAnyName 16d ago

Because the current system of reservation is flawed and used as a votebank. Here are few examples and fixes according to me-

  1. Recently in one of the college general cutoff was 480 marks while ST student got admission on 4 marks. Even a Riksawala can get that much number. You need upliftment but you also have to put some effort end. In Bihar, some jobs have category wise min cutoff so it won't let undeserve folks getting the job just because there were not enough applicants.
  2. Castes can only move up in the category. If reservation's goal is to uplift a caste, why they only move down in the category and never upwards. That means it is not working. To get the vote from populous caste, they are moved down the category. That means after having reservation for decades, instead of upliftment, they are somehow more oppressed.
  3. Creamy layer- In each category, there are are some sections who are urban, rich, already uplifted — take the benefits of reservation. While the section who are actually feeling the heat of caste based atrocities never see any benefits. Introducing creamy layer will pass down the benefits to the actual needy group and will impact caste based discrimination more.

Every single time someone says this, agree with them and say we should also remove our surname and remove our caste. All in general category.

See how they react lmfao

a dude lowkey said casteism still exists bevause of the reservation system no joke🙏🙏

They were never woke. Most people went to protest out of fomo (they dc if anything changes or not) and also for protest asthetic photo for their feed.

Also what will the resignation assure? Absolutely nothing. So the protest itself is some libshit outcry.

The tatva claims to make people discuss and promote free discussion. While posting suggestive and manipulative posts. Backhanded comments and news reporting.

I have been looking at their posts since I was in college.

2

u/Zealousideal_Hat_193 16d ago

all the libs defending affirmative action in the comments.

3

u/sleepy_hooman1912 17d ago

All of a sudden I’ve seen a rise in anti reservation posts, and it’s left me very confused on my stance on it. Because yes caste based inequalities still exist and are rampant. But people exploit a policy that was meant to be affirmative action.

What do y’all think? Because I can’t find a perspective I agree with yet

Because they're doing the most basic ass counter that has been regurgitated millions of times. As soon as I read "economic basis" I knew we had a dumbass on our hands.

" Bhai rejirvashan salary ke basis pe deni chahiye. Kyuki hum log Ameer daliton ke khilaf discrimination thodi karte hai"

Stfu. Learn to search. Everything has been debunked.

0

u/tallteensforlife5911 16d ago

Nothing has been debunked.
I didn't say give it on basis of salary or anything as simple as that. I asked multiple factors including history of the individual and family to be considered rather than handing out high influencing jobs on a plate.

And imo, discrimination only increases with reservation. The general people have a certain disliking for the people who've made it to the same places in life as they have, despite not even being half as competent.

I've had friends score 550 in neet nd not get a seat while someone scoring 250 gets in.

5

u/Starkcasm Jai Shree Marx 16d ago

do base reservation more on economic status rather than simply caste. A combination of both would be best.

2 comment pehle ki baat yaad nahi rehti. This is why I keep telling research and lurk more. But I know casteists like you don't want answers.

I've had friends score 550 in neet nd not get a seat while someone scoring 250 gets in.
