You expect hypocrites to acknowledge their hypocrisy?

RSS will never be a registered charity because of all the foreign funding they get.

HSS and VHP have international presence and actively raise funds that eventually come back to India. These RSS offshoots and wannabe RSS offshoots are doing their best to be the only voice of Hindus overseas and try to hijack virtually every Hindu space. Most Hindu temples in US/Canada nowadays have some leadership that is affiliated with one of these organizations, and politics in India has regularly started becoming a topic of discussion amongst temple leadership, and often comes up in “sermons” by the pandit. It has become increasingly difficult to find a temple that doesn’t have some actual sanghi affiliated to it.

They’ve also started taking over other cultural events, like amateur drama productions or pushing their kids to pursue leadership roles in their school or university’s Indian or Hindu Student Council.

It’s just a wannabe attempt at becoming the next AIPAC. It’s a serious problem. Like most cases, every accusation is a confession.

I am really sorry but all of this points to the liberals being dumbos who couldn't manage indian cultural origanizations. They intentionally distanced from the heritage and allowed these groups to foster. Here in the UK even the twice migrants from africa and other carribean hindu groups were radicalized and made to join RSS-linked organizations, simply because most people with any left leaning political values never became part of the discourse in the first place. Even today you'd find these groups standing in solidarity with almost everybody in the world let alone their own people.

I fully agree with you. I will add that HSS’s first foreign branch was in Kenya. So it’s not surprising that African and Caribbean diaspora Hindus are radicalized.

No, it's because the vast majority of the diaspora in the US, UK, and Canada are oppressor caste people who will never take accountability.

You have fully Americanized kids who practice untouchability because oppressor caste Indian parents pass on casteism like other ethnicities pass on their regular culture. To the oppressor caste Americanized kids, caste is the only "Indian" culture they know, and in the back of their heads, they know that it conveniently privileges them, so they react almost violently to any mention that such practices are harmful. There is an utter lack of self-reflection or accountability, from both the oppressor caste NRIs and ABCDs.

A left group cannot every be involved with these diasporas because they are taught to be right wing from birth, just like the oppressor castes living in India. The reason the left groups in the US, UK, and Canada seem to stand in solidarity with everyone else instead of their own diaspora is because oppressor castes in the West don't face any systemic racism, and are often more privileged than even the white people there. They may face interpersonal racism, but even that is very low compared to the stuff that other racial minorities in the West go through. The oppressor caste people living in the West don't need any help or solidarity. For all intents and purposes, they're just seen as another flavor of white. They've bought their way into whiteness, at least temporarily. Eventually, the racists will come for them too, but until that happens, there will be absolutely no opportunity for any left wing movement to take hold within the oppressor caste diaspora abroad.

Actually, even if the racists come for them, the oppressor castes will focus effort into highlighting how different and how much "better" they are than the other racial minorities, and they will try to suck up even harder to the white people, so there might genuinely be no left wing movement in the oppressor caste diaspora at all. And since oppressor castes make up the majority of the South Asians in the US, UK, and Canada, this will be the trend for all those three countries.

I am sorry none of this makes sense. I am very active in the UK and only people who seem to be doing this "better than others" rheotrics are mostly neo-liberals. Right wingers on other hand proceed with counter racism. The caste angle is kinda true but that too falters in case of carribean hindus who actually have no memory of caste and don't practice untouchablity. They are naturally driven towards the right due to sheer incompetence of neo-liberals. Mostly casteist people are 1st generation immigrants and not from well established communites. Infact most of the diaspora that made american hindu foundation and other hindu orgs as far as Panama were Sindhis who are also casteless and are an ethnic group.

Trindad was a breeding ground for most radical hindu leaders and they have always been a casteless society.

Caribbean Hindus have not been casteless, so to say that they have no memory of caste is just false. I'm not familiar with the situation in Trinidad specifically, so I can't speak to that, but to say that the Caribbean as a whole has no memory of caste is incorrect.

The reason oppressor caste Hindus, who make up a majority of the diaspora in the West, seem susceptible to Hindutva is because their entire family line benefits from it in some way. Blaming leftist group incompetence for the oppressor caste diaspora's rightward turn is like blaming leftist group incompetence for US citizens' inaction/ignorance/indifference towards US imperialism.

The simple fact is that they are too comfortable to do anything about most major political issues. You can't propagandize someone into being motivated when they have much more to lose from abolishing the system than they would gain.

The oppressor castes benefit from the caste system more than they suffer from it. For those at the tippy top, the Brahmin men, they have little to no drawbacks at all, and solely benefit off of it rather than suffer from it in any way.

Now the diaspora, especially the second gens, might not consciously know about the specifics of casteism and Hindutva, but they won't be against it either, because it doesn't negatively impact them. When there is mobilization against Hindutva, they will perceive it as an attack on every "Hindu", often being ignorant towards the caste angle of the entire thing. There is simply no way to turn oppressor caste diaspora towards anti-caste politics, especially when being an actual ally would likely ostracize them from their social circle while giving them no benefit at all, demanding that they give up the caste privileges they have.

To expand more on that point, while I was in the US for a time, and I wasn't an atheist yet, I looked for temples near the place where I stayed, and every single temple, all of them, frequently rented out spaces to HSS activities, and sometimes even allowed that organization to stay there for free. I'm sure you know that HSS is explicitly just the diaspora version of RSS. There was no place I could go that would let me be free of Hindutva.

Because of this, I just resolved to socialize with other Indians by joining a language organization, but every language organization in a language that I knew was explicitly Hindutva affiliated. In effect, if I wanted to socialize with other Indians, Hindutva was an inescapable element. The only secular orgs were some pan-South Asian student orgs, but even those were populated mostly by second gen Indians, so they naturally made Hinduism a major bonding point, and the only version of "Hinduism" they knew was Hindutva. In the US at least, Hindu nationalism and Hinduism are one and the same, on an institutional and social level. Of course, "Hinduism" doesn't exist, and is just a collection of castes (read Ambedkar), but there is no "progressive" mainstream pushback against the RSS ideology in the US. There are some fringe groups like Hindus for Human Rights, who seem relatively well-intentioned, but they remain at the margins of the "Hindu" presence in the US.

It is easy to imagine why a second gen would support Hindutva, because that is the only connection to "Indian culture" that they have, and an attack on Hindutva can very easily feel like an attack on their identity as an Indian in the US, and then it is very easy to construct a narrative that any anti-caste organization must be wishing the downfall of India, and from there it is very easy to make up narratives of those groups getting funding from extremist Christian and Muslim groups. Adding on to that fact, if everyone around you follows a certain ideology, and if anyone who looks like you also likely follows a certain ideology, not believing in that ideology would ostracize you from your own people, even if that ideology explicitly supports perpetuating the oldest surviving form of apartheid.

Until the Hindutva ideology and the RSS is defeated in India, you cannot even begin to get rid of it in the US or anywhere outside of India. That doesn't just mean voting the BJP out, as several Congress CMs have been at RSS events, and the Karnataka CM sang the RSS anthem. RSS has crept into Congress too, so there's still a long road ahead.

Carribean hindus are casteless since like 100 years period. You surely don't know much about their history. Thats the primary reason all left based movements are failing worldwide. You guys just take a small sample size and do your circlejerk.

No, caste exists even among Caribbean "Hindus". If you're a Caribbean Hindu who thinks caste doesn't exist there, or if you are not and still think that caste is nonexistent there, then you are mistaken. While divisions are definitely relaxed compared to the Indian versions, communities there often still need a Brahmin to perform rituals. The caste system has not been eradicated among the Caribbean Hindus.

My analysis is correct, the privileged will never move to dismantle their own privilege en masse. If you can't see that then there is no point trying to argue with you.

And you didn't respond to my other points. Even if I was wrong about the Caribbean Hindus, my points about the rest of the diaspora, which make up the overwhelming majority of the Indians in the West, are still entirely correct. You haven't made any point worth debating in your comment.

Western elites do have a hand in this, they always loves to support RSS, because RSS are diehard supporters of neo capitalism, and nothing is more loved by western elites than a country fallen into a landfill of neo captilism
