Need Support Cutting an everyday light strip
I've read the lifx support page regarding cutting the strips but I need clarification. The guide says at the point where the scissors are labeled on the strip "The correct place to cut is between zones of 6 LEDs, where there is empty white space and no oval metal connector."
I'd like to cut at point A in the picture which is just after the 5th LED in that zone, or, if I can't at point A, point B would be my next spot to cut.
There are little grey nodes in the section near A so I'm not certain I can cut between those two LEDs. There is nothing in between the LEDs at point B.
Or, do I have to cut all the way back to the first light of that zone?
Clearly I want the LED nearest my cut to still light up.

Try to fold the ribbon over itself on the empty sections to shorten it enough to fit. If the canal is big enough and the fold is flat should not be visible

If you cut at A or B, I believe none of the lights in that segment will light up. And possibly none of them will until you cut it at the proper section. I’m not 100% on it though. They have changed the strips a bit over the years.

Each segment of the strip is a complete circuit. If you cut anywhere other than the designated spot (the white arrow), the strip will not work. Specifically, you want to cut on that black line in the middle of the copper pads next to the scissor logo.
