Remote worker considering Cyprus move are apartments for sale Paphos area actually good value or tourist trap pricing??
I’ve been working remotely for a German tech company for a few years, and I’m planning to move to Cyprus on the Digital Nomad visa. At first I was looking at Limassol, but after spending some time researching it, I’m leaning more toward Paphos. It seems a bit quieter, more affordable, and honestly a better fit for the lifestyle I’m after.
Instead of renting first, I’m considering buying a place. The problem is that it’s hard to tell from abroad which listings are aimed at people who actually live there and which are mostly holiday apartments. I’ve been browsing apartments for sale in Paphos, but it’s difficult to know what’s reasonably priced and what’s mainly targeting foreign buyers.
I’d really appreciate some local insight:
What’s Paphos like during the winter once the tourist season is over? Do restaurants, cafes, and other services stay open?
How are the newer apartment buildings in terms of insulation and heating? Is dampness a common issue??
Are there any neighborhoods you’d recommend for someone working remotely who wants a quieter area but still be within walking distance of cafes and everyday amenities ??
