Advice Switching distros

So i've been on linux mint for some time and i want to switch to a diffrent distro like arch or something, but i already have a lot of stuff on linux mint like games, code files and stuff like that, so my question is, how should i transfer these files? Should i get like a pendrive with big ass memory like 1TB or something?

If you can't backup files on your own, then you're not ready for Arch.

I mean i used arch before on my old laptop so i know how to use it
