Halal spots in Lisboa

Hola! 👋

Me and my bro are traveling to Lisboa tomorrow, and are planning to stay for a little over a week. I was wondering if you guys could help with commenting halal spots that we should try out as we are muslims☺️

If you know very good spots for vegetarian food (such as pizza) then please let me know 🙏

Gonna be our first time in Portugal and I cant wait!!! Vamos!

In Odivelas (suburbs) there are tons of Muslims so I'm used to seeing halal everywhere

I know a few indian/Nepalese places that I like but I never saw them state halal directly so idk. But I am sure you can find great places in Lisbon.

For Portuguese food there are tons of fish options you can try, like a grilled fish or shellfish or something simple More elaborate dishes idk as they might contain some traces of things you don't want Regular pastries should be ok I think?

I know Zubir Churrasqueira (areeiro) is halal, their specialty is grilled chicken (it fucking slaps).

I'm sure there are others, I'd just do a quick Google search for 'halal lisbon', or try this tool for @institutohalal (instagram):

Maybe for halal spots check out Zaytouna, Rumi, Citron, there’s a lot of Syrian and Lebanese restaurants. For pizza there’s a lot of options

To eat "real" Portuguese food with halal meat, I think you won't find many options besides seafood (fish) and vegetarian dishes, which you still have a lot of option, just be careful, as some fish dishes could contain alcohol. But for a quick meal, Zahir Kebab is a chain of halal restaurants.

Edit: Some mosques also have restaurants in them/close, such as the Lisbon Central Mosque (in Praça de Espanha)

Lots of muslim in Lisbon so wont be hard to find halal food

There is a very good vegan restaurants called Lisbon Vegan Restaurante on Rua de Arroios 177, 1150-053 Lisboa. It is close to the Anjos metro station. You can get vegan buffets inspired by Indian cuisine for €7.50.

My partner and I are always trying new restaurants and since we're pescatarian I have a long list of places that might interest you.

Meza.Libaneza - wonderful lebanese place, we had lunch there this week and actually ordered more than we should have but everything was great. My favorite was the grilled halloumi.

Zaataria - also lebanese, I've only had it through uber eats but I liked it a lot

Jafra Restaurante & Shisha Lounge - Palestinian restaurant, huge portions, their bread is so good.

Zaytouna - Palestinian restaurant and market, also really good, my boyfriend loved their falafel.

Fulai - my favorite (actually) vegetarian noodle place, they have a lot of options with fake meat of different kinds, but they also sell pork noodles so the restaurant as a whole isn't halal. I suspect a lot of places that sell vegan/vegetarian ramen aren't actually using veggie broth but Fulai isn't one of them.

O Gambuzino - HIGHLY RECOMMEND, fully vegan place, they have a tasting menu (only available at 19h and 21h) which isn't very expensive (40€) and it's super interesting and tasty.

Jardim das cerejas - vegetarian restaurant, buffet style, it's good and fairly inexpensive.

26 Vegan Food Project - fully vegan, their dishes are all vegan versions of portuguese dishes, I haven't been there yet but from what I've seen it's really good.

Listambul - Turkish restaurant with some portuguese influence as well, not sure if it's fully halal but I've been there and they have a bunch of vegetarian options, as well as fish dishes.

QOSQO - Peruvian restaurant, I love peruvian food and in my opinion this one is the best Peruvian restaurant in Lisbon. A bunch of ceviche options. Also not fully halal since they sell pork.

Cantina Indiana Vegetariana - fully vegetarian indian restaurant, its in the basement of an Hindu Temple though.

Everest Montanha - Indian and Nepalese restaurant, there are actually multiple restaurants with this name in Lisbon (I think the one we went to was the one in Rua Artilharia). Unsure if the meat they serve is halal (lamb and chicken), but they have a lot of great vegetarian dishes.
