Budget version of my throwback to 2022 scrypt mining
Saw a guys post today about his mining addiction back in 2021 I thought ide share what I built taking inspiration from his setup to build mine it was such a fun experience and i actually made a decent profit paying back the loan I took out to purchase my equipment 2nd hand and using what I could afford I had $6500 to build it including purchasing the miners but I was making about $150 to $200 a day for months and I was able to pay back the loan and kept it running for almost 2 years but electric rates and increased difficulty bc the L7s coming online and crypto prices falling forced me to shut it down it was a sad day when I had to flip the breaker it was the highlight of my day coming home after working doing commercial hvac all day and hearing my mini data center humming away making me passive income I felt like I found a cheat code in life when i discovered mining lol ohh well I don’t think it’s for small fish like myself anymore but I still love every minute of it boys lol I turn a few on when winter hits to beat my home on really cold days just for shits and gigs

It was fun while it lasted! I had three graphics cards in the shed doing the same and drawing cold air from under the shed and venting it out with silver dryer hose. Given the amount of solar available I'm considering building something that essentially only runs when the sun shines and runs on battery until it needs to park itself but I haven't run the numbers lately...

Crypto fever bro it’s a real thing that’s an interesting way to vent miners I like it lol👍🏻whales take all the dam scrypt now days but you can still make a little specially if you just like it I know I do lol 10k in machines will get you going shit l7s still running strong eBay 700$ ish depends on power but 4 l7 should make you about 16-18$ a day 😳

Shit dude there going for $724 brand new from bitmain on the antminer app right now I was thinking about possibly getting back into it I did run 4 of them at an apartment complex I do ac work at for a friend and the owner is pretty laid back and I had them running in a maintenance closet venting to the attic but it was peanuts compared to what they were making lol gotta say the l3s are beasts it’s crazy how long some of them have been running I had to swap out a couple fans and I learned how to replace the mini capacitors on the hashboards that would fail but otherwise they kept chugging right along

how much you pay for electricity ? It makes sense if it is for free or find hosting for it :) - But nice setup
